Bilstein TRD Pro suspension kit on sale PTR13-35140

Curious to see if it settles, has me wondering which notches to have the front shocks at to compensate for the lean.

I'm going to leave them at the supplied settings,

My current measurements before the install are LF 20" RF 19.5" from the center of the hub to the fender. Should even out nicely

Just got the email that my order was “complete” so we’ll see if it shows up. Ordered today after dragging my feet the last two weeks.

Haven't driven much yet thanks to no alignment but I can tell you it's riding way better than stock.

No nose dive is the best part. Its soaking up bumps and feels awesome.

For the price this couldn't have been beat!

If it stops raining long enough for me to get more pics tomorrow I'll post em!

Awesome! Looking forward to the pics to see how level it looks. Also curious to see how far out of alignment it became. Looking to tackle it this weekend with the no spring compressor method like you did.

Yeah, thanks so much for all the info and doing the initial plunge! Looks great!

I broke down and called Olathe again since I haven't received an email and my order status still shows ready to ship. They told me that my order has been submitted and accepted (No VIN needed), but is somewhere in the queue, they hope it will ship in no more than another week or two.

I bought this kit yesterday (using Ebay) from midwestoemtoyotaparts...it shipped today and estimating delivery tomorrow to St Louis, Mo. For what i'm getting, the price seems too good to be true!

I noticed that Ebay seller has now finally bumped their price up as they are running out of their stock.

My order from these guys @ midwestoemtoyotaparts shipped today.... Thanks Bob

These measurements are as rough as can be, but they still show an increase.

Before
RF little less than 34 1/2"
RR little more than 36 1/2"
LF little less than 34"
LR little more than 36 1/2"

After
LF 36 1/4"
LR little more than 37"
RR little more than 36"
RF 35 1/4"

Is this correct? I recall reading that you 'fat fingered' the measurements so I'm curious if the labels are correct and just out of order? Thanks!

So, everyone is installing the TRD Pro suspension on Non-Pro models, and raving about it? What happened to “The TRD Pro is nothing but an apperance package” or, “For the money you can buy a way better suspension?”

Seems it’s not so bad, after all?

Yup, I fixed them in my original post. I'll measure them again tomorrow now that they may have settled.

For $487, not bad at all. Can't beat that price

People are raving about it because they paid around $500 for a $1,700 kit. So to answer your question, yes you can buy much better at $1,700...but for around $500 you won't do better, and that's why people are raving about it.

Seems like such an awesome setup for the money! That being said, I’ve got some concerns that really make me hesitant to jump. Maybe I could still be persuaded, but with my luck they’ll all be out of stock or the price will go up.

My hang up is that I had a discussion with a guy at Bilstein and he said he couldn’t access any specs because OEM stuff is kept pretty well locked up. What he did say is that you could bet with all the money that was invested in the TRD setups for both the FJ Cruiser and 4Runner, there are certainly differences in valving between both kits due to weight differences and other factors. He said the difference most likely isn’t just the valving either. I argued that they look identical down to the reservoir mounts, with the only difference being one coming preassembled with top mounts, but it still didn’t convince him.

Maybe the guy just didn’t know what he was talking about, but I’m still not certain. Toyota seems to normally use the same part numbers for the same parts across different vehicles, so why would they do this differently for the spring and shock part numbers across both kits? At a glance this kit seems to be impossible to beat for the money, but the engineer in me makes it hard to make the decision.

Pulled the trigger and ordered from bochtoyotasouth ... no FJ VIN was requested and I received a shipping confirmation today... Kit cost was $525.80 plus shipping ($35.12).

Toyota called me today. They have to do a corporate override on these allocations for the TRD shocks. Corp is really cracking down on these shocks sales- they assured me that it’s being pushed though. Now it’s a waiting game.
They were suppose to be here tomorrow....
