Shocks/struts should NOT leak oil. I have many questions about where the these parts were in relationship to the other boxes and side of the big box. I assume you checked the box that contained all the parts and verified by size of oil mark and location that the oil didn't come from an outside source. Also there may be just one shock/strut leaking. I would definitely contact the Toyota dealer you bought the suspension kit from.

If frankramo777 somehow = Frank Toyota Scion Hyundai Subaru, I almost bought from you. I got the last PTR13-35140 from olathetoyota.com. I always hate getting the last one. Some of the boxes were opened but they checked out.
In case anyone missed KP Texan excellent post which contain Toyota documentation on the installation of PTR13-89150 which is very similar to the kits below. The Service PDF includes "10. Adjust the Vertical Headlamp Aim." as well as torques.

I got one on Ebay yesterday. Going on a 2017 TRD offroad premium with KDSS. As far as I can tell after reading through this whole thread, the only thing I need to be aware of is putting some nutserts into the frame in the rear for the reservoir mounts. Should have the kit sometime this week.
Also worth pointing out plasticsnaks [OP] post. I would add, understand the risks before undertaking this project. Take all safety precautions including safety glasses.
It sure does. Comes with everything you need unless you want new top hats for the front coil overs. Most people, including myself, did the “no spring compressor” method and it worked out perfect. Besides basic tools, everything is in the box.
Since you have KDSS have you decided about moving the front right strut, spring mount, snap ring from the bottom position to the top position to try to level your 4Runner? I'm not sure what I am going to do.
To achieve a true 3” lift with this kit, without the use of a spacer, would a 3x16 coil spring work? Such as this King coil with a 600lb rating? https://www.polyperformance.com/king-16-0x3-00-coil-springs

Yea, that'd work. The 3" ID dim is the critical dimension to fit over these shocks. You'll likely need UCA's going this route, however.

KDSS trucks do NOT have that same threaded hole. A 4R installing this kit will need to use a nutsert to accept the reservoir brackets.

Darn...I was hoping for a 2" lift....so I would want a 15"x3" spring but it looks like King and Eibach both don't make them. Guess I'll have to wait for Dobinsons who says they do plan on making it.

The placement is set by a snap ring on the resi body. Unless the groove for the ring is in a different place for the FJ than 4Runner they should sit the same. Actually now I'm really curious to know if there is a difference.
Thats who I ordered mine from. It shipped this morning.
