Does anyone know if the 6112’s that are for the FJ the same for the 4runners?

I ordered new top coilover plates from amazon for 21 bucks each. They were KYB. Not worth the hassle removing and reusing old stuff as well as old coil bushing/isolator. Go check amazon fellas

I got new ones just to be safe. If you happen to damage them during removal, you will kick yourself for not spending the $50 on a new set. I had 900 miles on my ODO.

Every time I look at the thread I come so close to spending money I shouldn't. If these kits arn't all sold out soon, I might skip the 6112/5160 set up and run this set up. They seam a little less flexible, but worth it for the cost savings.

It fit no problem. It is the exact kit I bought. Just remember to buy two. :

I have found so many parts that they that when they definitely do....they don't update the years they fit when they get added.

That's the flat rate system for you. You probably found a shop decent enough to charge you actuals, rather than flat rate. Seems like suspension installation is very profitable and a cash cow for some shops as they charge you book time, but the work can really be done in half the time.

I have a couple more shops that I'm going to call tomorrow and get estimates. If the independent shops are the same price as the dealer, I'll probably go with the dealer. At at least I'll have a single throat to choke if something goes wrong with the parts and installation.

Yes, I was very happy with the place I went. I was referred to them by another forum member. So maybe do a search for a mechanic in your area. Where are you located?

It seems like the consensus is Wheeler/Eibach T13 springs to lift the rear.

What is the most popular method to lift the front? I couldn’t get a clear answer from skimming this thread.

How so? You can buy lower spacers/perches from several places, and its no different than moving the circlip up on the non-Toyota 6112s. For less than half of what the 6112s alone cost, you cant beat it. I was trying to sell a motorcycle to buy Fox coilovers, but at under $1k for everything I did to my truck, including UCAs and alignment, I'm incredibly happy with the end result.

The fact that you have to purchase spacer to change the height of the lift vs just moving a clip makes them less flexible, but the difference in price seams to make that well worth it. I'm planning on buying Falken Wild peaks next week, but I'm strongly considering these instead because I don't know how long they will be instock. But i'm planning a trip on the Georgia traverse next month and I don't think ill be able to get tires before then if i do buy the suspension. I'm pretty sure the tires will give me alot more benefit then the suspension on that trip.

So, it looks like, with these top hats and with all the parts coming in the kit I should be able to do a full coil-over replacement without taking apart the old ones...??

eBay has a new seller selling for 550 plus shipping. Apparently they are a Toyota dealership but since it’s ebay you don’t have to worry about providing a vin number. I was going to buy the 6112 but for the same price I get the rears for free.

Anyone have recommendations for a 1.25” spacer ? I’ll go with the t13 for the rear springs.

It will fit a 2018, its just a year behind.

Dobinsons 1” Pro springs are being released in a couple weeks. I place my order yesterday. Their 2” springs will undergo testing soon.

The Dobinsons won't give you any additional lift. The stay exactly the same as the TRD tuned FJ TT 14". Wait for the 2" to come out mid summer if you want 2 inches in the front without spacers.

This is 100% correct. I posted pics earlier showing the Dobby 1" springs side-by-side to the OEM TRD coil. Both are dead nuts on at 14".
