I am a field engineer so a lot of traveling. Car is parked and sometimes is not driven for months.
Currently in Egypt since end of July and wont be back for another three weeks

Lift going on this weekend! trim packer or no?
First off, thanks to everyone who shared their experiences with this kit so far!
I've got the FJ TRD kit and 2x Toytec 1/4" spacers for 1.5" front, and Dobinson's C59-599 for 1" rear. Picked up a 10mm OME trim packer just in case.
I'm aiming to lift 1" all around and maintain stock rake on my SR5, since I frequently load the rear. I figured the extra 1/2" spacer lift up front would make up for my hidden winch, but I can't decide what to do with the trim packer, if anything.
I am wondering .. would I be able to set the two front shocks at the 2nd perch to maximize my lift, and rely solely on the rear trim packer to compensate the lean? Seems a bit risky to gain a bit more height, but reading through the thread it might have worked for others, such as [MENTION=175086]Icantdrive55[/MENTION] (post #706) .. how level did that end up side to side?
OR, if I do leave the clips offset, should I throw in the trim packer anyway?
My mechanic is doing the work, so trial and error means more labour.

It is easy enough to install after the fact, but I would go ahead and have it installed while you are having everything else done. The lean comes from having the battery, driver and gas tank all on the same side. It might look a little high unloaded, but will likely be level with you sitting in it and a full tank of gas.

Yeah that's the one [MENTION=105450]CowboyTaco[/MENTION], 150PR10. To be entirely honest I'd probably rather it was level when empty with me looking at it! If I am sitting in it, it can't bother my OCD.. and let's be truthful that's really what this is about, my OCD. I don't imagine a slanted horizon when looking out the windshield.. it'll drive fine lean or no lean.

Would this setup work with 255/85/16s and not cause any rubbing? I could be way off here but throwing it out there since the kit seems inexpensive.

Already have the wheels on the truck. The prior owner (a member on here) ran them without issue and so have I. They work fine.
Anybody know if this kit will work with the 255/85/16s?

I'm running this kit with an additional 3/4" lift up front and a 1.5" coil spacer in the back. On a 17x8 wheel with 4.5" BS and 0 offset, I'm clearing my 295/70/17 Ridge Grapplers. All I had to do was the fender liner mod and bumper trim.
As far as your 16" wheels go, post up some pictures. It's very rare to find a 16" wheel that fits but there are a few out there. In all honesty, unless you're 100% happy with keeping these rims for at least the life of your tires, replace them now. The odds of you finding another 16" wheel that you like and that fits are very slim.

I have yet installed my FJ TRD suspension.
I'm still debating to got with Daystar 1.25" poly preload spacer or Toytec 1" aluminum lower spring perch spacer because people are now saying the Daystars are collapsing and losing lift.

Don't double up spacers. Preload plus top hat is not a good idea. I went Cornfed. Front spacer is 3/8" thick which offers roughly 3/4" lift on top of the 1" lift this kit already adds. Rear is a 1.5" Cornfed spacer as well.

I didn't mean I was going to double up. I'm selecting either the Daystar isolator spacer or Toytec lower spring perch spacer.
The Cornfed top hat spacer you mention seems like a good cheaper alternative.

Sorry I read your original post wrong. If you go preload, go aluminum. Not a bad option but that does change the ride quality. The top hat spacer doesn't unless you go real big. My truck rides like a dream and that's on a 295/70/17 E rated Ridge Grappler.
Well apparently I can’t— or didn’t— read. Thought this was in the 4th gen sub. Damn!

TRD Pro kit works on the 4th gen also. Very slight modification required. Lower bushing on the front shocks needs to be shaved down a hair and some people say the hole in the upper shock mount needs to be opened up slightly but otherwise it's bolt in and go. It lifts the 4th gen more than the 5th gen also right out of the box. Stock 5th gen front coilovers swapped into a 4th gen lifts the front about an inch so this should lift the front of a 4th gen about 1.5" - 2"

I wish you luck finding one. I called a few dealers around the country to find mine. One finally took the time to search nationally and found what they said was the only 1 showing left anywhere in the US. I called that dealer right away, they said it was reserved for one of their mechanics that never paid so it was mine if I wanted it. Paid, had it in my hands 3 days later. $613.00 including shipping.
