Another material option instead of the rubber Daystar/Wheelers isolator is the Cornfed preload spring spacers made of UHMV that goes below the top hat. It replaces the stock isolators and has divots for the stud heads. He has a 7/8" and a 1 3/16" physical measurement size models. It's a great option he started it all with the gen 1 Tacomas, much respect to David. [MENTION=256848]outtaphase[/MENTION] he has the setup running high ass 37" up front on stock wheels&tires, no top spacers.

Your signature says TRD Pro tail lights. They're all the same to my knowledge? Would be a good idea to install the TRD Pro wheels and black roof rack caps since it looks like you're trying to build a clone.

Yes that is correct but I listed them that way because that’s what they came from, a 2016 PRO. And my next upgrade I’m the works is a set of the pro wheels and a new roof rack.

Sprung a LEAK!

After months of owning my kit I finally broke down and had a local shop do the instal for me (small town small shop). Work has kept me too busy and this is the route that had to be taken. The mechanic had it done in about half a day so I picked it up on lunch and brought it back to work, didn’t even drive it a mile. Walked out after work to find a pool of fluid under the drivers rear shock, fluid game and dripping everywhere. I haven’t had a chance to get underneath to see what the problem is or where it’s coming from, but can the remote remote resivoir be refilled? I’ll add some pics once I get the tire off and can see clearly.

Time to get over to the dealership and get them to warranty out the shock. These cant be repaired.

That sucks, sorry man. I don't have much faith in these rears TBH. When I received my shipment one of the boxes was soaked with oil, I had read a few users' experiences with the some small leaks and was hopeful, but when I pulled it out and cut the strap it did not extend completely. Leak appeared to be from the hose connection.

It was replaced for free under warranty, and they said they only saw a few in the system, so hopefully you can get one, good luck with it.

On a related note.. if/when replacements run out.. I was wondering, if it is a new install and ok to not replace in pairs, if I would be able to replace with a single off-the-shelf 5160?

Do we *know* that they are the same? For a long time many thought 6112 and TRD Pro fronts were the same, and we know now that they are not.

I guess you could also ask Toyota for a true 4Runner TRD Pro rear, but the part number will be different, and they may not be valved the same.

I'm non-KDSS, but I put both front clips at the top, and the 10mm spacer on the driver side coil. I have zero lean as it sits now.

Follow-up to this. I installed the FJ kit with Toytec 1/4" spacers on both fronts, both circlips at the top, C59-599 rears, and the OME trim packer on the rear drivers' side. Sits level both sides, and perfect for me and the family. I love it. Thanks a bunch [MENTION=175086]Icantdrive55[/MENTION] !

Caster only to 2.8, courtesy of sad local shop doing just what the machine tells them (not my mechanic) .. but still drives very nice. Can't imagine what 3.5+ must be like.

Squeaks a bit, hopefully that settles. Or might be my back seat, it does that too.

Pretty sure you're not supposed to mount the reservoir upside down like that? Factory design is right side up, hose on the bottom.

Looks good! I don't have much of an opinion on the location of the reservoir. It probably doesn't matter, but I would flip it to maintain the OEM orientation so that I wouldn't have to think about it anymore.

This is an OEM kit, so it should last as long as the OEM ones. My rule of thumb is about 100k mi before replacement. I'm guessing there was a "bad batch" of these rear shocks, as several have had bad ones out of the box. Regardless, you should get 100k on these.

As for your question about Icon, the general consensus is that they have suffered major QC issues as of late. Just google "Icon Fail" and grab a cup of coffee. So that I'm not a total internet wheeler, I helped another T4R owner take his Icons off after having issues with them for a second time. IIRC, the first time they had to be rebuilt was after 10k.

How much are you asking? Toyota won’t warranty my single rear shock and there are none available. Only replacement advise they offered was the 4Runner specific TRD kit and that’s still $1600 Toyota cost. I’m now looking for options for replacement.

I’m thinking of going the route of the 5160, what/how much difference would be noticed in driving experience and off-road?
