Bimrunner Build Thread & Pics

Hey Paul,

Has that been your experience with the installation of the 270-XP; I'm quite surprised because mine required NO mod! ...glad you posted that!

rig

For the stock connector you should be fine, but I used the same lugs on my "Big 3" and according to the shop that did my work, they had to drill the positive out a bit.

Okki

I'm now a happy user of an adequate alternator. Ah, thank you again Okki and rigtec. Everything was installed without hiccup. :bravo:

When it's time to do mine I will be hitting you up.

Took old White Knight out to Barrett Lake Trail last weekend. It felt good to get some crawling in. Great trail, probably need at least 35s on the 4runner to make it through. It is super tight and some massive boulders.

Looks like a challenging trail! I did some reading on it after seeing your posts on IG. Very cool, and a great looking LC to boot!

SOOOOoooo...

4Runners are cool, but I wanted something to add to the stable that is a bit more rugged... and cool.

Added this bad boy:

1973 K-10 with a recent 1991.5 Turbo Diesel Cummins swap... 12v.

It needed a grill so I made one

Decided it needed MOARRRR... So began a big rebuild:
Because lic plates are big:

Resulted in:

Oh, it will be done sometime in the next few months but still needs a few things like:

New hood
new engine mounts
transmission install (automatic to manual swap), atlas (4 speed) install
gauges replaced
interior replaced
Front bumper
flatbed
winch install
all new suspension
the new wheels and 40s...
Lockers front and rear
regearing
on-board air
this and that...

So, just a little bit of a build.:llama:

Oh the envy... That's as far as I needed to get....

Oh man... that brings back memories of my '78 Chevy SWB "heavy half" (factory added leaf springs to get GVW up to the point of not needing a Cat and able to run leaded gas) that was my first off road build! It had a 454 (bored .030 over) 4 speed, 37's, real roll bar and lots of sweat equity! I was only making around 260 HP but that engine had 430 lb ft of torque. Anyway Ben, thanks for taking me down memory lane. My truck was orange and beige instead of yellow lol. Next build was a 1984 4Runner brought new in 1985 but that is another story... Thanks!

That looks like fun. May I suggest an exo cage... It really pumps up the fun factor without too much stress.

I might do a build like that at some point... I'm a chevy guy at heart. Right now, I'm enjoying my little crawler. But I still like the 5th gen for over-landing... So, comfy and smooth vs raw simplicity.

Drool. I believe there was some hokey Shania Twain song "You're still the one..." that's how I feel. Your truck is still my idol, maybe it's cuz it's a mall crawling LE.

I'm such a tool. :nicethread:

Dang man. That looks good.

My rear does about the same but my wimpy front end is not that good. Seeing this makes me want that darn LT again. I had pretty much talked myself out of it, but now you got me thinking again LOL

BTW, I liked this pic I saw that Chance posted on FB...
