My rear does about the same but my wimpy front end is not that good. Seeing this makes me want that darn LT again. I had pretty much talked myself out of it, but now you got me thinking again LOL

BTW, I liked this pic I saw that Chance posted on FB...

After reading your build thread, I may have come to the conclusion that I now want 305s, change out my rear Kings, and hit up califab.

Haha, this thread did the same thing to me! Kings ordered this week, 305s will be ordered once my new SCS Ray10s arrive (snow in Cali and CO are causing delays), and I already added Rokmen trailing arms, upper arms, and adj panhard. (Being in CO I went local with Rokmen, similar to CaliFab)
'sigh' my tax return has already been spent, and I'm not even close to filing them yet!

If you are getting LT in the rear the lower Rokmen arms will likely not be compatible. Those arms will hit the axel when the shocks are about 25" extended. You'll need the MT lower arms as they have a large offset. I know as I just made that mistake on my 4th Gen.

It's not really a problem... I have the offset lower links but ran without them or a while. Not really necessary IMHO YMMV.

What I have come to realize is that what I really want is offset upper links. I have the MT and they press on the top of the gas tank at full droop. I also want my axle just a bit more forward than the MT allow. That would allow me to upgrade to 35s and not rub at all at full stuff (I don't run rear spacers - with them, I think it might rub up top and I'd have to do bigger bumps- no). Also, I'd go with some can bumps instead of extensions like the MT. It gets old with the limited up-travel. I'd like more squish.

I feel ya on the up travel. It does not bother me often, but if I get in a hurry in the rocks it hits it pretty hard at times. Really depends on how loaded I am. If I get all my gear forward... I'm usually good. I'm not sure if cans and air/hdro bumps would work much better. Maybe... would have to experiment with it. The setup dominates in crawling conditions though.... and it does fine at speed in most terrain (dirt roads, whasboard... and what not...).

The limited up travel is the main reason I did not go with the MT long travel rear setup. Instead opting for an extended rear travel rear. But I am still waiting on my shocks.
 
Actually limiting the up-travel was a lot of trial and error for us. We did the math and cycled the axel and what we settled on was a 2.5" spacer just to get the Timbrens to the point where they would only graze the bottoms of the doors at absolutely maximum stuff.

I have the Rokmen lowers and can confirm they limit the downtravel with the MT LT setup on the 5th gen as well. They don't limit it by much but the MT off-set lower links are really the way to go with their LT setup.

The Rokmen are built incredibly well but there's a reason a set of the MTs are sitting in my garage right now (on a related note, I'll have the Rockmen for sale in a month or so).

It does limit up travel.. but the term is a bit confusing.

You get the same articulated up travel (or even more), but only when the axle is not parallel with the ground. Pure vertical up travel of the axle when it is parallel with the ground is limited by about 3" compared to stock. The only time I notice it hitting the bumps is when trying to go fast in really rough stuff (which is rare for me), and by fast I mean not crawling... but that is when things break anyway so I don't usually do it on purpose. It's usually a very unexpected thing that causes a harsh bottom out... but the rear of my truck is much lighter than most folks. No big bumper or spare hanging off the back. Slow as possible fast as necessary is my mode 90% of the time.

The Rokmen are worse than stock with the LT. The arms have a much larger cross section which causes them to actually bind up earlier in the downward cycle.

You'll never get that far down with a standard lift so it's a nonissue there; only on the LT.

I forgot they were made of aluminum (which probably makes the cross section large)... I actually ran my LT with stock control arms for a while and it never really hit, but they are thin and flimsy and were actually already bent a little on the side that usually makes contact (Passenger). The trackbar setup makes the passenger side drop more.

If you plan on doing high speed desert runs the Hydraulic bumps are the way to go. You just need to weld on a thick plate to the axel to where the cans will hit and position the bump cans so that it prevents the shocks from bottoming with the bump cans fully compressed.
With the MT LT rear you'll have to extend your bump stops by a minimum of at least 2.5" (MT recommends 3") with an offset, otherwise you risk bottoming out your shocks and damaging them. The rear Icon LTs compressed length is 16". Yours Kings are different you'll need to account for the additional length.
 
First of all, love your truck and your thread! Just wanted to say this is where I discovered 4x4 labs, and your thread along with a couple of others really sold me on their stuff. I emailed Luke a few days ago with some questions about sliders and he replied immediately, I replied right back and decided to pull the trigger on a set. It's been a few days and I haven't heard back yet, but I know they're a small shop and I need to be patient. Can't wait til my order is confirmed and Luke probably owes you a few beers for the sale! :cheers:
