I have hit birds but not in my T4R. Mine is Salsa. Yours must have the optional bird magnet installed. Some vehicles have that you know. I must have hit 6 birds with my white Trooper. I used to run a Lear35, serial 198, and that airplane needed a hunting license. In the short time I was around that plane it got 6 birds and two deer.

Mu buddy was driving and he said he thought he hit a bird but wasn't sure. He found it a month later in his radiator when his mom said his car smelled like a dead animal.

I think your Salsa Red is as attractive a magnet as my Nautical Blue Metallic! Although, honestly, I can't say if it was a small bird or a MASSIVE bug that actually went kamikaze on my hood - hard to tell at 80mph. Whatever it was, it left a small dent. 
about 10 years ago i was driving through a marsh land area in south jersey in my relatively purple honda civic and got dive bombed by a turkey vulture.
the bird realized he was in over his head at the very last second (which is when i realized what was happening) slammed into the windshield/roof, flipped over twice in slow motion (visible through the rear-view as i was going about 40) and landed in the middle of the road. About 4 seconds later it stood up and with a single flap of its wings bounded into an adjacent field so i took off.
his wingspan was wider than a lane of traffic.
no damage to the car but it was a big a$$ bird. left an oil stain on the roof that took 3 washes to remove.

While changing my oil a few months back I noticed one of the skid plate screen's dented in with a hole punched through the screen. I remember thinking how strange that was because I didn't remember hitting anything. Once I got the front skid plate off I found the remains of a dead bird behind the vent.

I use to have a Jeep Wrangler and I hit an owl with the top down, feathers went everywheres... its scared the crap out of me and my girl!!!

Once while on an emergency call to repair an air traffic control tower communication problem at night, I was cleared to take my personal car down the taxiway, the controllers were going nuts and told me to expedite, so my car being an '85 Supra I did, at about 80mph it looked like a gray sheet was pulled over the windshield as thousands of little birds lifted off the taxiway, I'm sure over a hundred of them splattered on my car leaving the grill clogged and entire front a stinky, bloody, feathered mess. Was not a pretty site! It took weeks before the smell went away.
I hit a pigeon doing about 70mph on the freeway with my old jeep grand cherokee. I didn't know what the hell happened and my whole front windshield had blood all over it. The pigeon had hit my grille guard. Feathers were everywhere and when I opened up the hood there was pieces of meat that had cooked on the engine. The meat even had little grill marks and everything..LOL!
It was pretty nasty though. :roadkill:
