Bishop / Mammoth 395 Trip 4/20

Anyone else get an elevation 'high' this past weekend? Road and snow conditions were perfect near bishop, and mammoth. Some photos if anyone is planning to go up soon.

First stop: Obligatory Alabama Hills

Second Stop: Driving up to Rock Creek Trail head. The trail head was closed due to snow but plenty of road side parking; hiked through snow to get to rock creek and nobody was in sight.

Third Stop: Heading to some secret/not so secret natural hot springs.

Fourth Stop: Parker Lake trail.

Fifth Stop: Grant Lake & June Lake

i've been going to mammoth for years that that third stop does not look familiar to me

im due for a trip. havent been in a couple years. i miss the condo

Have any other cool hot spots that are off the beaten path? hikes/trails?

We drove around benton springs and after checking out three fully packed hot springs, we passed on getting in as it was way too crowded and/or rowdy.

Nice! I’ve been up there 3 times within the past month 1/2 or so for some boarding and snow runs. Those pics are making me wanna head back out especially with the weather being nicer.

There are some really nice hiking trails by Twin Lakes in Bridgeport and Virginia Lakes. As for moderate trails, check out Laurel Lake, Coyote Flats, Casa Diablo (trail that'll take you from Bishop to Crowley Lake's beach) and Reward Mine.

Nice trip! With fly fishing opening this weekend I'm looking to head back up A LOT this summer.

There are some really nice hiking trails by Twin Lakes in Bridgeport and Virginia Lakes. As for moderate trails, check out Laurel Lake, Coyote Flats, Casa Diablo (trail that'll take you from Bishop to Crowley Lake's beach) and Reward Mine.

Laural Lakes looks rewarding, ran out of time this trip. Next time.
