Black headlights - post 'em up

Trying to decide if I want to buy some black ones to replace my yellowed and interior condensation plagued headlights. Post up some pics. Preferably of silver 4runners with black lights and even better if you have the grey cladding. I have searched but not found that specifically. Thanks!

cpark_12, that is pretty much dead on to what I wanted to see. I just don't have the painted grill. And as an added little bonus I had also been thinking about painting my wheels so thats good to see that too. Did you paint the headlights yourself or buy them? If you bought them, from where and how are they holding up?

Next question is how difficult is this to do? Really want to, but nervous about resealing them. What product did you guys use? I have watched several youtubes and read several threads, but still just nervous about my headlights?

I have resealed them without any extra stuff. Some guys may recommend a silicone glue, but I haven't had any issue.

Just line up the edges approximately. Place it glass side down in the oven for the same temp and time as opening them. When you take them out, screw it back together and hand press the other edges and you should be good. If there's any resistances of it going back together, check the edges or heat the glue up again.

Not very difficult just time consuming. As for re-sealing you don't need any additional sealant, as long as you get them nice and hot again like you did to separate them they should seal fine. I did mine probably 4-5 months ago and no leaks/condensation, and we've had quite a bit of rain! Just take your time and let each coat of paint dry.

I did them myself in an afternoon. Total time from starting to take them off to putting them back in was 3 hours maybe. I just got some krylon fusion satin black spraypaint and went to town on them! It's really not that difficult to do if your better half will let you throw them in the oven. I've since done my fog lights too.

What do people think of the 2003-2005 blackout headlights that Burtman Industries sells? Does anyone have a set installed? I've been considering going that route.

Years ago in 2002 I did some angel eyes on my GTI and decided I would never do that again. Typical VW you had to remove the bumper to take out the headlight assemblies lol.

i would just BLHM the OEM ones. i used tyc and eagle eyes and the quality sucks compared to OEM. quality as in optics

They're N-Fab bars made for a 5th Gen, but they bolt right up to the 4th gen...minus one bolt. I have a pic of the mounts on here somewhere. I'll see if I can find them
