I was about to say it didn't even seem like a terrible BiN price until I saw the "2WD" in the description.

Because it was for a movie. Why would they get a 4WD for driving around on pavement in a movie? I'm sure they had better things to put in the spaces occupied by the transfer case, front diff, etc.The stunt guys spec'd the suspension, I'm sure, since they were the guys who had to jump it, roll it, crash it, etc. etc. The bumper was just for looks.

If you saw the movie you'd know you probably don't want to buy this one! Not exactly The Graduate when it comes to stunt cars.

Did you see the movie? If you did you'd know the answer. And you'd REALLY hope the "unused" claim is true! It's quite common for a movie car to be a total beater on the outside (if that's the part it's playing) but a fully built race car under the skin. That and these things were professionally driven in a movie with a $200 Million budget! Why would they skimp out on a set of shocks?

A more interesting question is: how did this end up on a farm in Georgia?

Living in the Atlanta area I have seen this on CL for a while. I was able to pick up one of the Demello bumpers from one of ~17 4Runners Toyota sent out to be built. Guess one complete 4R snuck out the back door along with a few bumpers. It was cool talking to one of the guys that worked on building all of them.

Man, that suspension makes me all hot and bothered.

I'd probably ditch the Demello bumper, throw on some big fiberglass front fenders and bolt on some more power.

Nah, they were black and it was night, it's kinda hard to see what they are even when you own one. And the hero completely dismantles a couple of them. I noticed only because I'd seen something about Runners being in that scene. Though one shot did have the big 4Runner script on the tail gate front and center for a split second.

I haven't seen the movie but what I hear is Lexus was the bigger winner for sales and exposure.

Usually its acura advertising the crap out of the vehicles in Marvel movies.. i guess toyota's paying bigger bucks now?

I guess. They had a big "collaborative marketing" deal with Lexus for this movie. As is usual with these movies, the manufacturer with the deal supplied pretty much all of the vehicles used.
