Black roof rails

Where did you find the Trail rails for 110?

Locally actually gave 100

so this was pretty simple? didn't have to take anything off? 2 things I don't like inside are the door handles and that piece of aluminum on the passenger side above the glove box. didn't like the center console, either, but i pulled that out and shot it with plastidip.

I'm a big fan of plastic-dip depending upon the application of course. but i've dipped some interior dash parts in my Miata and they've lasted for years without a scratch. low traffic, low touch parts of course.

I'm hoping the OEM Toyota black rails will be reasonably priced and I'll get a set of those. Hard to beat the convenience and quality of a Toyota part showing up on the doorstep.

The OEMs on my 4th gen are black. I'm just hauling a surfboard that I've been strapping to my OEM cross bars. It's been working for years on my 4th gen. But now I want to upgrade to a 5th gen. Does anyone know if my 4th gen bars will fit across a 5th gen?

I don't want to steal the thread so a PM response is cool.

oem cross bars

The OEMs on my 4th gen are black. I'm just hauling a surfboard that I've been strapping to my OEM cross bars. It's been working for years on my 4th gen. But now I want to upgrade to a 5th gen. Does anyone know if my 4th gen bars will fit across a 5th gen?

I removed my originals (SR5) and replaced them with a set off of a Trail. Hated all the chrome up there. Direct replacement, same hardware/fit. Easy.

I'm doing the same (swapping chrome for black rails.) I assume the end supports (where the bolts are) can be reused on the new black rails? I'm placing an order for the left/right black rails and matching black plastic end caps ... just wanted to make sure I can use the old end supports and don't need any other parts.

Why do some new ones come with the black and some with the silver? ORP seems to come with either or, without much reasoning. Anyone know?

My sisters 2020 Nightshade came stock with factory black rails.

I need to mount my Thule crossbars so I can put my 11' aluminum boat on the roof. Issue is the length of the roof rails is pretty short. Do they make longer rails so I can move the front crossbar forward a bit?

I don't know about longer rails, but there are many aftermarket 3/4,7/8 and full length racks. However, most of them still use the same 4 mounting points. The forward (3rd) foot just rests in the track. The theory is that the loading force is down, not up. It might be upwards with a boat on the roof?

The ones that actually attach a 3rd mount attached require drilling holes. Eek!

Unless you want to drill holes you may not gain much with longer rails.

You might check with Thule, they probably have a kit that will fit on the stock 4runner cross bars and they can tell you about the limitations.
