Hi all, I am new here as well. I have a 2016 Trail that has the black caps and silver bar. I would love to have black and have a friend that has a 2018 OEM rack he is willing to give me. Does anyone know the difference between the two and whether or not it will fit? I've contacted the dealer and they are clueless and just keep telling me they do not make a black rack OEM for my car and are only for newer models.

Honestly if anyone is just looking to have the side rails black instead of silver, all I did was (Black) vinyl wrapped them and then cut out the slot on the backside. I'm on my3rd year and still going strong with no signs of peeling?

You can also get the rails off a offrosd on ns limited. , or whatever is cheaper
