Dang. As always, I LOVE your additions. Doesn't look like you're just packing more crap on to pack more crap on. All functional. I also love it when you take an existing product and tweak it to fit your rig. Will make anyone who knows the product take a 2nd look.

And I just want to remind everyone again what this f'in thing started out as.

^^I just had to have that beauty right there. As with any thing, there's always a humble beginning. I was merely satisfied just to own one and not thinking about making changes to it......but things just spiraled in a damn hurry, courtesy of this wonderful site full of gear heads and mod fanatics.

Ofcourse there's the whole tailored to your taste, make-it-your own but never overboard side of things that i've always been an advocate of.

As many of you know, I used to have some PIAA 520's up on the roof I had before the Gobi, those I had to sell as they just didn't look right mounted in front of the full length rack in the Gobi. They'd stick up like they don't belong.

Recently, I came across a deal on a 30" Rigid Industries E-series lightbar on craigslist and so I grabbed the opportunity to own something of quality...or a namebrand, whichever you prefer..

Once again, i needed to modify the rack in order to accommodate the light bar the way I wanted. It looked alright with it just sitting high up in front of the rack but i wanted something with a custom fit look.

Here's the E-Series including some filters..




How the light bar looked pre-modification.




Here's how I mangled the rack.....This is self-explanatory from here..Basically, all I needed was to step down the lower cross bar to achieve the height and position of the light bar. This also allows it to be pushed back for a more incorporated look.










In the end i guess.. it's all just a matter of personal preference.

Bro, your runner is hands down one of my favorites on the forums. With maybe two exceptions (ARB bumper, and Hilux hatch and tire carrier). Serious inspiration and I am definately following you.

What rack did you get that came with that ladder. I was wanting to go with a custom bumper from CBI like what hungwin (if you know him) got has, and the main reason was I love the ladder on it. I like the ladder/ rack combo you have though.

The rack was made by GOBI. Oh yah, i remember hungwin jza80's rig, and he sure has a nice custom bumper set up. Different than what most CBI owners would go for as far as accessory setup and his stands out for me.

Thanks A. We should definitely plan up for some wheeling trip, maybe do some CT4WD tour perhaps? That would be an epic event to be a part of. After all, I've been sporting that CT4WD sticker on my back window all these times.

We'll cross paths for sure, like you said, we ain't even that real far apart.

Which ARB bumper is this? The Tacoma bar does not have the 2 mini fog light holes does it? Truck looks great man!!!!

I'm especially proud of this part of the build, mainly because all of the work associated throughout the whole process was done by moi. Welding was something I haven't done in the past and have always wanted to learn. It took a lot of mounting and dismounting the bumper to get it to where it should be, i'm just glad this ones in the books!

I guess that if you are really passionate at what you do and sink your mind into it, you can tackle just about anything no matter how challenging. Haha maybe not for everyone, but this sure puts me to the test.

Fortunately, I haven't experienced any casualties aside from a minor finger burn due to some hot metal contact. Only cost to me was the extra spool of welding wire, some can of aerosol, exhaust pipe and a grinding wheel. All less than $50. Ohh, I get so much more in return!

It's the same Tacoma bullbar 3423020, just mini modded to house in those Hella Micro DE's I had sitting around.

Ervin, all I have to say is WOW to your work. I got to see your modded ARB this weekend on your brothers 4runner and it is simply amazing. The attention to detail is what blew me away. Every seam, weld and cut is precise and looks factory. I can't imagine what kind of work it took to create the hexagonal fog light holes, they were so clean looking. Seriously though that was amazing to see in person and you have some very lucky brothers. My favorite part of it all was the ARB BLCKTPGSR Edition plaque that your brother made for you. It really topped it off in a very classy way. Your brother did a good job wheeling as well, definitely tested his 4runner. Anytime you want to make a trip again we'll plan a real wheeling trip in the Sierra's. Keep up the great work!

Glad to hear you guys got the chance to go out and wheel at Hollister, saw some of the pics of the group.

That bumper is a mirror reflection of mine with a few recognizable characteristics of course based on what my brother requested he wanted. I'm just happy to be able to deliver on a promise that I'd build him one and that it was gonna be nice. My brother could've gone a totally different path and chose other manufactured front bumpers, but the honor was mine in that he chose my idea, i guess that was motivation enough to get going with the build. The detail was laborious but i knew i could pull it off.

Oh, the plaque, that was a big surprise to be honest. It was well-played by my brothers and my nephew. I'm just flattered and really grateful to them.

The Sierra's sound good- wish I could take the 4Runner for the drive.
