Blinker causing RPM increase

Got a weird one, looking for some help. Any time I turn either one of my blinkers on, the engine RPMs increase by about 200 and stays at that level until I turn the blinker off. This only happens when I am on the gas and not at idle. I first noticed it while driving on the interstate -- every time I signaled to change lanes the cruise control would turn off as if I had touched the brake.
I checked all four blinker bulbs and they are working fine. They are the "regular" type, but I have replaced several other bulbs with LED versions(brake, park, reverse), and they worked fine for over a year before this issue appeared.
Thoughts?

To me it sounds like a wire is shorting out. Your RPMs will jump due to voltage needs.
The engine will put out more juice to increase the stored energy in your alternator.
It could also be your alternator.
If you have a multimeter, start poking around and testing voltage. Report your findings.
I know it sounds silly, like two completely irrelevant parts combining.

Its like, "When I turn on my windshield wipers, my rear passenger tire deflates.." Haha

i would recommend pushing it off a cliff and claiming insurance$$$

no i was kidding. voltage regulator?

for a while in my ford, the horn only worked when the tires were rolling. - go figure!

Finally resolved this issue by replacing the LED brake & reverse bulbs with regular bulbs. Not sure what this had to do with the blinkers or which ones were causing the problem, but as soon as I put the regular bulbs back in everything went back to normal. After I posted this, the ABS light started coming on as well, and I noticed that when I turned my blinker on I could hear the same noise coming from the shifter that you hear when you press on the brake pedal (shift lock release). As I said in my original post, the LEDs worked without issue for at least a year, but they were some cheap ones that I got on ebay. Thought I would update this in case anyone was having the same/similar issue.
