Block Heater Question

Well, since you revived a 2-year old thread...
I did a Google search for "vehicle block heater plug mount" and found several variations of what you posted (way too much to post here). Many appear to be self-installs. You may need to do some experimenting, and depending on your wrenching experience, purchase something similar and have a local dealer set it up.
Sorry I couldn't come up with something more specific, but hopefully this gets you going in the right direction.

Hmm, I've not seen this block heater plug-in front grille mount/cover on any 4Runners in my part of Canada ... mostly our plug-ins just hang out the front end. Bonus points for dragging your block heater extension cord with it

Okay, so where is it if it's been installed by the factory? I looked (briefly) but it's -33F windchill at the moment. Could have sworn I saw it last time I changed the oil...

Would this come in handy for my 2014 trail edition premium. It was bought and shipped to the previous owner in Nevada and was a trade in, in north idaho and we get pretty cold winters. When I started my car today it was 7 degrees out but windchill was about -3.. took about half an hour to warm up, and it's driving rough at around high way speeds of 60mph-77mph. I read on another post that they make thermostats for the certain regions the vehicles are in or is there such a thing called cold weather thermostats? I might be mistaken so I apologize. It would be nice not to have run it half hour before I drive on the highway for 45 minutes. Lol I do not have a garage so it's outside all night.

The actual block heater is at the rear left side of the engine block, at the top, just below the head. I can't remember exactly how I routed my block heater cord but it should route over by the battery and probably to the front of the vehicle somewhere. I would look real good by the battery box for the plug.
A block heater would definitely help cut down on the warmup time, probably eliminate it. However, the rest of the vehicle will be cold- transmission, transfer case, differentials, etc, so it may not eliminate all the cold morning harshness. If you do spring for a block heater, I recommend getting the OEM toyota part. The Kats brand fits terrible and doesn't appear to be the same quality as the Toyota part. The other thing you can do is cover the grill either with a made to fit cover or even cardboard works.
