This summer i am going to start towing a boat that weighs somewhere from 2500-3000 pounds, and i was wondering if the rear end will sag and how bad?

It really depends on your toungue weight. That is the weight on the 4Runner from the trailer when you sitting still. A lot of times your boat manufacter will list those in their specs. The toungue weight for your 4Runner is 500 pounds. My guess is your rig is something like 385 pounds or so. It you get near the 500 pounds it will tend to sag, if it is over 500 pounds it will really sag. there are ways to adjust the tongue weight, but be sure not to make it too light as that will make the trailer sway.

i have a 2001 2wd runner and tow a 7000 pound boat with a tounge weight of 625 and it only sags alittle bit so with a 2500 pound boat you sould be ok

This should answer your question. 2007 V8 Limited. Boat: Sea Ray 200 Select, 21ft, Boat is roughly 4K# and trailer is another 1.1K for a total of 5100lbs per certified scale. The tongue weight is 380#. The pick at the top is my new 4Runner and the bottom pick is my old Pilot. The 4Runner definitely gets it moving better off the line and climbs hills better, but I wouldn't say it was that much of an improvement on the freeway at 65mph. The only huge difference between the two is backing it up my steep driveway. I could almost floor the Pilot if I had to clear the lip of the driveway, but the 4Runner does it effortlessly.
