Body sliders

Ok so Ive been toying with the idea of making some body sliders and couldnt find anything here on the forums (honestly I may not have looked hard enough). Ive seen them on Defenders and multiple Jeep models, but not on a 4runner. Whats everyones thoughts on this? Pics for reference.

I would think you'd have to do some reinforcement at the attachment points.

Our trucks are too pretty to drill holes in the body. LOL :typing:

You'd have to drill into the pillars for strength. Adding them to just sheet metal would be a damage multiplier. I'd rather do an exo-cage.

It could be done....but you'd likely need to roll a piece of 3/16" steel to match the curved rocker under the door panels. That shape would not be easy to duplicate. Without stiffening that portion of the chassis.....tubes wouldn't be supported and they wouldn't offer any protection.

The body sliders make sense on those rigs, because what they are attached to is flat and stout. The contour of our beautiful bodies isn't practical for body sliders.
