Bogus Bottle Jack? pic

Does anyone else have this head on their OEM bottle jack?
This is the bottle jack that came with my '97 4Runner.
I've not seen this flat head with the hole in it before, only the ones with the two or four point knurls.
Seems as though this would have an inferior contact/grip on the vehicle.
What say you???

Same as the bottle jack that came with my 97. My parents are the original owners, too, so I know it has never been replaced.

I think they changed the jack head in 98 when they did the slight interior updates, possibly to hold it on better in the holder under the seat so it doesn't rattle.

That's what came on my '99 and I am original owner. Fortunately, I have never had to use it.

Same as with my 2000, and I've used it numerous times with no issue.

That hole on the top of the jack is to hold one of the lower ball joint studs. If you look at the lower control arm, you'll notice three studs sticking out.
