"bolt on" lift kits for 95 4R

need feedback on the so called bolt-on suspension lifts such as the Tuff Country, Sky Jacker, Trailmaster etc. Although I am not a mechanic by trade I have above average skills. Is there much geometry to these installs? I think I would be fine since there's no welding involved. I have a shop and the proper tools. And how many real hours are involved you think if you haven't done it before? Thanks a million.

You sound just like me when I installed my first lift kit on my old CJ5.
It went fine, and now I build my own.

It's hard to say how long it would take, it depends in part on what and how many problems come up. The very least would be a full weekend.

No geometry at all. You just start by taking off the wheels and then follow the directions through it. I did a Superlift on my truck with about the same experience you have and it went fine. I just couldn't see paying the local rip off $2000 to install the kit. I ended up getting the lift and the rims/tires for that and had enough left to get a locker too. Look at the bright side, aftre you get it done you'll be a whiz at changing out front end parts. I was.

When I did mine it took about 20 hours. I could do it again now in 6.

I've done a couple Ready Lift leveling kits with a friend on a couple Jeeps so I think I might be alright. First I have to get my wife a new 4R so I can have the 95 to work on ;-) Thanks for the feedback and encouragement. I'm psyched!

Hve you bought the lift yet

If not look at Ball joint spacers and landcruiser rear coils.

You'll get a better ride, and more flex out of a set of BJ spacers, and they are only about 110 bucks...

I plan on getting a lift kit in the next couple of weeks.

I have been looking at the toytec spring and spacer kit.

What is my best option? and company to go with?

What shocks are the best bang for the buck?
