For sliders, I would think the weld on ones are MUCH more sturdy than bolt ons. Sliders are made to get beat up and I would think the bolt on ones would be alot more fragile as they are not "attached" to the car as well as a weld on set. Thinking about sliding on rocks (which is what sliders are for), the weld on ones should take a much more harsh beating than bolt on ones, which in my mind would break alot easier.

I have been looking into getting the BAMF sliders, I've heard good things about them.
I'm not sure how other companies do it, but the CBI Sliders I have are stoutly built in all respects, including mouting points. There are large U-Shaped 1/8" Steel brackets that surround the entire frame rail and are bolted together on top with two 1/4" thick bolts with a high weight rating. I regularly lift my 4Runner off the sliders at work and I have not seen any signs of fatigue or even movement of the brackets. As far as I can tell, the method CBI used for these sliders makes them just as strongly connect as a welded slider would.
I have seen a cheaper set of bolt ons on another member's truck that wre simply drilled through the frame rail with no support and bolted on that way, those sliders were wobbly and worrisome.
