Just finished my 2002 4runner build and had to sell it. Just lifted it with Toytec Ultimate lift and put Level 8 MK6 wheels with 255/80r17 BFG KM2's on it. I absolutely loved it. It drove great. I had also replaced valve cover gaskets and rebuilt the starter with all Toyota parts. The tires still had the tits on them. I literally just put them on it. Long story short some property came up for sale and I needed to sell the 4Runner to help us get it. Posted it on Craigslist for $9500 and I sold it the next day for $9250. I will miss it greatly but I will build me another one in the near future. I really didn't expect it to sell hat fast.

It would have to have a waterfall, a gold mine, and probably some velociraptors living on it for me to sell my 4Runner.

I may have got lucky but the lift, wheels, and tires were brand new and the guy realized that. Plus I had service records all the way back to 30k. I still lost $500 or so on it not to mention all he work that I did myself on it. He bought it for his soon to be 16 year old son's first vehicle. Wish I had had a vehicle bout for me when I turned 16. My first was a 1988 Toyota 2wd pickup 22r 4 speed manual with 100k on it and no power steering. Bought it myself and I guess that might be why I take such good care of any vehicle I get.

Very north. Chattanooga is only a 10 min drive. The property will be a little further out 20 min from Chattanooga.

Hate that you had to sell it, but you've got property in a sweet spot. Love that area, close to Lookout Mt and 'nooga which is awesome if you like the outdoors. Awesome hiking/biking trails around too.

Yea, I was about to build me some sliders and I had a trucool 4589 I was about to install. I actually mocked up where I was mounting it over the weekend but I didn't get to running the lines so I will prob just sell it for now. I also have a set if 16" 5spokes with tires I might sell as well.

When I put mine for sale here and on Craigslist, it sold in less than 12hrs. People were even offering MORE than my asking price to sell it to them instead of a buyer who was flying in from out of state for it. It's ridiculous what clean 3rd gens are going for. It's starting to remind me of the asking prices of clean foxbody mustangs now.

In 1986 I sold the car of my dreams. It was a 1968 Chevrolet Chevelle SS396 Convertible, red on red, factory A/C console shift TH400. I sold it for $4500! The money helped me make the down payment on my first house. Yes 10 years later that car was worth close to 100K if it were still in the shape I had it in. But my house appreciated double that amount, so although I wish I had that car, I don't feel bad about selling it.

Man, I saw this truck on craigslist yesterday and recognized it from the forum. It's crazy what clean 4Runners go for in this area. Congrats on the property. Hopefully we will see you back here sometime.

Also I'm only like 2 hours west of you. Were you gonna build the sliders yourself or have a shop build them? I've been wanting to get sliders, but the only off road shop in the area quoted me almost $500 to get a set of the BAMF ones welded on...

Awesome truck. I just bought my first 4runner, 2001 sr5 , pretty much stock, how did you like toytec ultimate lift kit and what components did you go with ? How was it on the street? My truck is a daily commuter, 90% of the driving i do is street and highway, the only off road i will be doing when i go dirt biking and take my truck on some light trails, i pretty much want a lift for the looks of it and my rear shocks are gone, i just picked up new OEM shocks for the rear i will be installing them this weekend. Do you recommend doing a lift for the driving that i do ? Will it be to hard for the street? Should i just stay with OEM suspension and buying some 1999 coils for 1" lift ?

That's one spoiled 16 year old! I don't think I'd give a 16 year old son an off-roading vehicle, who knows where he might end up! Hope he owns another truck that can pull him out of mud/rivers lol!

I guess I have been in the fog as far as pricing of 3rd gens go. Around DC, especially when Obama first got here, they were going for mad money. Now, not so much for 3rd and even 4th gens.
