Booster cables? Who makes quality sets?

Currently have an old set from napa the are 6 gauge and 16ft long that I love.
The problem is the no longer carry/manufacture the set. I like to have a set in each vehicle. Thought I would put it out there to the knowledge of the forum.

nothing wrong with booster (jumper) cables; i have three sets. however, seems harder to get a quality set nowadays. thus, you might look into one of the micro/compact booster packs that can be charged via usb port. i have a noco gb40 that works very well. there are others that likely work well, too. an advantage of these is that you don't need anther vehicle for a "jump" start.

100% this. I recently bought a small booster pack (Also a Noco) and it's amazing. Super small which makes it easy to use as well as very easy to store. I just helped out someone with a dead battery and where his car was parked made it almost impossible to get another vehicle anywhere close to that. His thought was to find someone willing and then push his car out to get it more accessible. When I came up with this tiny thing in my hands he said, "What is that going to do?" Hooked it up and it fired right up. He thanked me and said he was going to buy one of those that night.

Came here to recommend one of these. A good set of cables isn't much cheaper than one of these, and these are much easier. Cables don't work if there isn't another vehicle around.

I also have an old jumper cable set.. 1967 ..
these are with 6GA copper wire and 100% copper clamps soldered to the wire.

don't use these very much , but they work all the time..
last year family member 2005 T4R V8 had battery die at the store parking lot.. some people came over and the jumpers the had could not get it to run..

so she calls me and I had to drive 15 miles to do the jump .. start up perfectly .. then I followed her to the AZ store and they put in a replacement under warranty .. battery was 2015 DOM..

If I were to add another jumper set to my collection I would buy the copper 100% clamps and solder wire to them .. clamps are expensive .. but they work ..............

You can't beat the quality of making your own using welder electrode cable, lasts forever, what I did. Batt packs nice invention, both have their niche.

Hit up local shops ask if their changing any soon, flash some cash. New it's exspensive.

Thanks for the input. the booster box was never on my radar. The big bulky ones are all that came to mind. The compact nature of the Noco units make it something I'll have to get.

Dual batteries[emoji3].

Had a decent set that got hacked up when a buddy threw some crap in the back so I did the welders cable thing and made a nice set. Then somebody liked it more than me so now I'm back to a set I picked up cheap at Sears a few years back. Worked good when I've had to jump other people, cause did I mention- dual batteries. Ha
