Borla Cat Back Exhaust System

Looking to get a borla cat back exhaust for 2016 t4r sr5. Anyone that has one what's your feedback on it. Easy to install with no issues? How is the sound compared to stock?

I had one for my 2010 4 runner limited and installed it myself with no help, very easy. I loved it, sounded great. I also has the TRD cold air intake which also sounded great with WOT and zero drone at highway speeds. I also had one on my RRS back in 2006, borla makes a great product and I'm waiting on a member on Ih8mud (land cruiser forum) to fab one up for our land cruisers because Borla doesn't make one for us. I would absolutely put one on again.
 
Borla is an awesome system made of a higher quality material as compared to some of the other systems. Magnaflow is a great but drones somewhat, whereas the Borla has a much smoother tone on the highway. Pair that with a TRD, Airaid or aFe intake system and it will really give it a better sound when you are on the throttle, without sacrificing comfort during cruising.

I have the Borla exhaust and K&N CAI. It sounds great and doesn't drone. The only time it bothers me is when I'm climbing a steep grade at highway speeds for an extended period of time.
 
I like mine, but I wish it was a little quieter. It's not loud all the time but on a uphill or into the wind it can be a bit loud. unlike most others I bought this to replace a crushed and torn stock muffler. The Borla was less expensive than paying the dealership.

Only Magnaflow does. This is the Borla.

Thanks guys! Is it noticable louder then stock? I have not seen a video with a borla but magnaflow has a few.
 
I was going to get the Borla and ordered it - but it then seemed to be unavailable.

I got the Magnaflow catback - rear exhaust. It looks good and says MF on both sides of the rear exhaust pipe. I kept the original Toyota system - it was very quiet.
The Magnaflow is still relatively quiet but makes somewhat of a growl when you hit the gas.

Can you confirm I have the right info from your dyno sheet?

1. Stock exhaust, no intake
2. Borla exhaust, TRD intake
3. No exhaust at all, or stock exhaust? Using AFE intake

That's some interesting numbers for just an exhaust and CAI, ~15hp gain and ~15ft/lbs gain in torque are pretty nice for just an exhaust and intake.

No exhaust, just intakes. Figure the Borla adds a few more ponies and pounds, probably 20 for the combo.

Hmmm, I just noticed that the numbers don't seem right on that chart. Was looking at it before, guess I associated 188hp with 288hp! So, is this on a 5th gen 4runner, or something else and you were just showing improvements for various CAI installs?

Stock hp/torque for a 2011 4runner should be this:

270hp @ 5600rpm
278ft/lbs @ 4400rpm

Judging by the numbers in that dyno sheet, I'd say this was based on a 4 cylinder engine, perhaps a tacoma?

Still looking for real-world data on the Borla exhaust, and any other exhaust systems, specifically for a 5th gen 4runner, which also shows a stock baseline to go off of.
 
I just installed the borla system and really like it! It has more pick up and throttle response. Did not realize I would notice it. As for sound it is noticeable over stock and sounds great.
