Is this the one you got? Looks like the stock hanger (isolator) has a 1.75" hole-to-hole distance. So this one should add ½" clearance.

Was the OAL of the Borla muffler the same OAL as the OEM Toyota muffler that was replaced?

I installed it a while ago but if I recall correctly it was just a tad shorter. The muffler was oval and a smaller diameter as well.

Do you happen to have a direct link to the correct Borla muffler?

Borla exhaust

How in the world are getting NO whistling from the TRD intake? Mine whistles anytime the RPM gets above 2100-2200 RPM. Its normal for a CAI to whistle. Heck, my stock one whistled the tiniest bit.

I get sometimes get a whistle from my TRD. Its pretty quiet though, I usually don't notice it unless I have the radio off. Still much quieter than the velocity stack in my turbo MR2.

My exhaust had bumper contact but it was butting up against it pretty hard. Oddly enough, the all the rubber hangers were perfectly fine (no stretching or compression). I basically stuffed polyurethane bushings between the metal hangers on the one closest to the rear bumper and zip tied it together. So basically it pushes the metal hangers farther away from each other. So far, it has done just fine for me. I eventually intend to bend the pipe down just a little but that's later down the line.

Being that I have a Limited, the exhaust contours around the exhaust exist. Thus, I need to be able to not only LOWER the exhaust, but also continue to be able to pull it to the driver side slightly.

No I haven't tried it. The bumper seems fine so far - no melting, so I may just leave it as-is. How much heat can the bumper take? I don't know.

Exhaust Smell with Borla Exhaust

Anyone who has this Borla exhaust installed - Does it solve the problem with the sulfur smell in the cabin when you have the back window open?

Nope, have the exhaust pipe bent so it exists behind the rear wheel.

Mine was off a little bit around the bumper cover aswell, if you start at the second hanger back from the tip and work towards the tip, slightly bending the hangers you can get the tip centered a lot better

The Tacoma TRD exhaust looks almost identical and I wonder if it would fit. I figure it would work with the front pipe shortened a tad. Anybody know if they are fairly identical?
I figure Im either gonna make the Borla have a side exit or shorten a TRD exhaust.

Catback exhaust adjustment

I have a borla exhaust on my 5th gen. Just wondering how I can lower it further from the bumper because I noticed that it melted my bumper a little. I tried loosening the clamp between the muffler and the pipe going to the tip but that didn’t help. Or would I need different hangers? I have a SR5 with TRD pro valances.

I had a good gap before I installed the rear valance.
