I have the MF. I hate the drone at 2k. I really hate it!! I am looking to switch out the muffler its so bad.

That being said, any exhaust system will have drone. If it were me, I would stay stock.
 
yea that is my plan this summer.

i have the volant and the borla and LOVE the sound. I dont even hear the intake anymore honestly (actually after 1 dayit was un-noticeable).
I didnt notice any significant "performance" increase, but i never drove the truckt for that kind of performance anyways. But hey, inhaling and exhaling better couldnt be bad roight?
now where in the fulk are those 4.7 v8 headers, shatdamnit
 
I think the Magnaflow sound is perfect and I have NO drone, at all. I wonder if some people are mistaking the normal tone of a performance exhaust with droning.

The Borla is louder then the Magnaflow and it costs more then double. Quality is about the same. I have yet to find a Borla exhaust that is worth the cost on any vehicle.

Why not just weld a Maggie into the stock system?
That resonater could reduce cabin drone.
 
I think some people equate noise with performance. I had the Magnaflow on the Runner and checked it against the stock system with my GT2 computer and found no difference in the numbers. It is now sitting in the corner of my garage collecting dust because it was just too loud for no gains. Worst mod i've done.

I guess times have changed, when I was 18 I had a Pinto with duct tape on the radiator hoses and a Ross bicycle when it broke down. My friends didn't have much better.

I've changed the intake and exhaust on every vehicle I have ever owned. In doing so, I've compared all systems available. There are several exhaust systems that fall into the Borla price range that I also feel are not worth their cost (Blitz for one). It's not money, I've spent $1200 on a motorcycle exhaust back in 2000. I just purchased a Greddy exhaust for my IS350. The Borla for the IS was the worst fit and finish quality I have ever seen, very bad! Not only was the fit and finish bad, the sound was very raspy at WOT.

exhaust

ive got the borla , wanted the dual exhaust look. it sounds great to me & fits my 06 perfectly. i also put a few coats of exhaust paint on since it was new.
