Boss Adjustable Coilovers 1-3"

Bought these and put them on. They squeak a little. Is that supposed to happen and how could I fix that?

I've never had any squeaks from mine. Did you replace / remove any other parts during the install?

I did not. I was also told that they would clank because of no rubber spacer on the shock at Sears Auto. That sounded odd to me.

If you had these put on at Sears Auto, I think I see your problem.

My buddy works at that shop so he gives me a fat discount and they have a couple of techs that really know off-road stuff from taking with them. The sound actually sounds like it is coming from the UCAs. Does anyone know if that sounds like it could be the issue? Maybe bad bushings?

Mine did not squeak and I did not change UCA's. Did they put the sway bar spacers in? The only folks that developed a noise had rubbing from not putting those in, but was not described as a squeak.

I too have the boss coilovers and have a little squeak action going on... and I believe this is the reason why. Going to install the sway bay spacers and radiator brackets when I get the chance.:redbrick:

It Was The Sway Bar!

Hey guys, I took it back to Sears and my buddy checked it out. It really is the sway bar rubbing up against the coil every so slightly. Where can I get these bushings and or a new sway bar to extend it away from the coil? Is it going to be extensive on labor to put in? Because maybe I can do it myself depending on time constraints.

Toytec should have included the spacers with your kit. There should be 4 spacers total. 2 on the sway bar and 2 on the radiator support bracket. I would check the boxes to see if they are hiding in there. If not, call toytec. Installing the spacers is really not hard at all. Just follow the directions.

Toytec. I put sway bar relocates on my 4th gen, from what I remember it's just basic hand tools and a bit of your time.

Check this thread out.. There are pics of the spacers for the sway bar too. I went thru alot of threads before I installed my lift kit and when Jhalko mention the sway bar spacer I knew I've seen this problem before except the guy ended up shaving a little off his sway before he added the spacers.

Dont shave the spring, get the spacers as commented above if you dont have them call toytec.

Problem Averted

Houston, we do not have a problem! Got things fixed. Turns out the spacers and blocks fell out of the box and no one noticed since they were in my cargo hold. Everything is installed and no more squeak. The sway bar was rubbing up against the coil. Thanks for the help guys! I would have never known about the spacers of it wasn't mentioned.
