Bought a Custom made tire swingout

Purchased this swingout from a local TR4.org member. He did a very nice job on the design and fabrication. Here are a few pictures of the test fitting. Going to remove it and paint it black. In the future would like to add some can holders and move the license plate someplace higher. Maybe even a Highlift mount?

Thanks!

Now that you own it, go cut those lower tubes at an angle so they don't affect the departure angle, then weld some plate over the holes.:fear:

Are you referring to a cut in this area (red line)?

Exactly!

Cap the ends of all the tubes while you're at it. Looks half done as it is.

All the end caps are capped. That was an older picture while still in its fabrication stage. I have no welding skills so right now just going to rattle can it. I plan on adding some things later to it and will do that cut to enhance the approach angle then. In the mean time I plan on learning how to weld. I took it off last night and weighed it. It weighs 93 lbs w/o the tire on.

Holy hell that's heavy for just a swing out carrier! Most full bumpers don't weigh that much.

Yep, I was surprised by the weight but don't really know how much most of the aftermarket bumpers weigh. I did remove the main part of my hitch as I don't tow and that one piece weighs 33 lbs so I gained 60 lbs in the end. I paid $250 for it so even if it weighs a little more then others I consider it a win. :)
