Bought, not Built ;p 2000 'Runner

Just ordered some led tails and the morimoto h1 kit. Next weekend should be a fun project weekend.

Nice! That'll look good.

Do you know SKIDMRK from VWvortex or Audizine? He had a 3rd gen 4runner for a bit that he traded in, but I was lucky enough to get all the lights off of it. He made an LED third brake light to match the LED tails.

Here's a photo of my old b6 a4 1.8t and before that my bagged b5 a4 avant.

Love the bagged b5 wagon. I need a wagon. I do remember skidmrk, he had a red b6 right? Like 50 different sets of wheels?

New Years Day project.

More pics to come...

Been a bit busy over the last few days. I dipped the fender flares last weekend, still have a bit of touch up to do but overall I'm happy with the look. And it only cost 10 bucks.

The new housings for my upcoming HID retrofit are on the way and the TRS kit should be here by the middle of the month (ballasts are on back order)

Been busy over the last two days. Sorry for the crappy iPhone pics.

Mounted my hi lift:

Had a few of these leftover from my days as a sales rep, thought I could put them to use.

Borrowed a switch from a fog light wiring harness I didn't use when I installed my led fogs.

Ran the wires up the backside of my rollbar and attached the light strip to the crossbar

The LEDs are aimed a bit forward so they light up the cargo area but don't shine in my eyes.

I also started working on my hid retrofit. Didn't take too many pics but you get the idea.

All primed and ready for paint. But that will have to wait till tomorrow.

Also finally got my fork back from marzocchi so I got that installed too. Is it summer yet?!?!

God those pics are lacking in quality!

My TRS H1 kit finally showed up the other day so I had a little motivation to get the housings painted before heading to Detroit for the auto show this weekend. Mocked up the projectors in the housings as well, took me awhile to figure out the shrouds and rings. More pics when I get back from Detroit.

Took the trucks into the mountains a few weeks ago to play in the snow. Pretty good time aside from the land rover guys getting stuck and blocking our retreat for a bit. This is the best photo I've got of the hid retrofit so far.

So a week ago I was driving along, minding my own when a nice Russian lady in a brand new Outback decided to make a right turn from the left lane. Needless to say, the runner took the hit like a champ. My slider took 90% of the impact with a little residual damage to the fender flare, front wheel and rear door. The outback was undriveable. I'm guessing she did between $3-4000 in damage to her car. It was ugly. I just need to sand and paint the slider, get a new wheel, and redip the flare.

This thing is still holding air and is completely in balance. Big plug for FN wheels

On the plus side, her insurance is covering the damage.

I've also got some new meats on order, once she's back from the body shop and the tires are mounted, I'll get some better poser shots.

These showed up on my door last night

FN Wheels also sped a new 5 Star to my door to replace this busted up thing

Drove carefully (hauled ass) down to Discount Tire and an hour later, this emerged

Welp, my HID kit blew a fuse last night. Checked all the connections, everything looked solid so instead of trying to chase electrical gremlins down, I decided to pull them and go back to stock. Trying to keep things simple, last thing I need is another failure further away from home. Got an idea I've been kicking around for a bit, stay tuned.

Fresh start this morning, finally got around to installing my swaybar discos and poly swaybar bushings.

Old crappy, worn out links

Then, pulling out the ol bushings got complicated, busted bolts on both sides.

So got the right side done but only got the disco installed on the left side.

All in all, super simple job, just need to bust out the drill and tap and die kit to finish the bushing install, just didnt feel like getting into it today. There's a place south of me that rents garage space by the hour, might head down there next weekend and put the truck on a lift to get that done.

I think I saw you in front of Rock Bottom in Bellevue earlier this week. I was in the crosswalk and gave you a wave. Nice rig!

Its been a busy few months. Decided to relocate from the PNW back to my roots in MN. Figured I'd try to see a bunch of cool stuff in the west before going home. Left Seattle on October 9th and rolled into my Dad's driveway on November 13. A quick list of where I was:

Oregon Coast
Nor Cal Coast Redwood NP
Bay Area
Reno
Yosemite
Death Valley
Vegas
Hoover Dam
Zion
Bryce Canyon
Arches
Canyon Lands (White Rim Trail)
Moab
Mesa Verde
Durango
Ouray
Grand Junction
Aspen
Denver
Lincoln
Hawaii (I flew there)
St. Paul (Home)

Here are some random pics of the trip in no particular order:

Trying my hand at nightime photography, couldnt quite get the results I was looking for. They all ended up pretty fuzzy.

Saline Valley Road in Death Valley. Made me wish for Long Travel and adjustable shocks. They told me it was in the best condition its been in a long time. Never driven worse washboard. Only casualty was the rear swaybar, see the disconnect install pics above and you'll know why. Lasted about 50 miles before the mounts separated from the axle and disconnect pins fell out. By then it was getting dark so I just yanked it all the way off and threw it in the back. Carried the damn thing in the truck until Zion and ditched it in the campground dumpster. Cant say that I really miss it anyway.

This was by far the best campsite I had the entire trip. If you are ever in Redwoods National (and State) Park, take the time to go down to Gold Bluffs Beach. I think that was campsite 17. Right on the beach, its a fairly small campground so it stays quiet and you get to fall asleep and wake up to the sound of the surf. I could have stayed there for weeks.
