Box Under Passenger side seat

Anyone know what this box is for under the passenger side seat. It's obviously something electrical. I guess I am more surprised it is secured to the floor?

It's either the xm receiver or the amp if you have the jbl stereo.

Thanks guys I was thinking it was likely an amp. I do have the jbl system.

When the dealer washed it they left the passenger window open and soaked the entire passenger seat and floor mat before realizing it was open. I dont think it did any damage to this amp/xm box, but I don't know how to be sure. Radio plays well no issues... As of yet....

Check under the seat I bet your seat springs are starting to rust. And the stays inside the seat will rust real bad too. Mine did on the back when a window was left open and then it left rust stains on the floor : (

You have given us no information. What stereo does your car have? What options? Was it bought new or used?

Toyota would not mount anything under the seat like that because there is a floor vent.

Not true. I have one. Factory mounted. Considering that I do not believe Sat Radio was an option my year..

It is probably some sensor nexus for Airbags or something. It is a small box under the passenger seat. Seat sensor for airbags...

It is a 2007 SE with Jbl sound system. The passenger window was left open when prepping it for my purchase this past weekend and soaked the seat and floor.

I am concerned about damage to whatever this electrical box is? And I was hoping someone here might be able to clarify what it is before I go spout off at the dealership.

No. My read from the service manual is the sensors are in the seat, the Occupant Classification ECU is shown as being horizontal on the floor.

I have attached a image of it. It appears in the same general location in several pages of the service manual. Always just a bit off; obviously the manual isn't to scale and it represents the only "box" in that area.

I mounted one of my amps under that seat and didn't see anything like that.

I have an 07 w/o JBL and Im pretty sure the only thing there on mine is a vent. I found a new condom down there once though. I'm leaning towards a sat radio box.

ok. That is just so odd. I have the '05 and Sat Radio was not even an option, I don't believe. I do have JBL, but all of that stuff is in the back of the car.
