I'd guess the switch on your brake pedal was either lose, or just broken.

its the same light that comes on when my ebrake is on. do you know where that switch is?

also - what master manual would you recomend: Chiltons or Haynes?

thanks!

Ah, you mean the light in the instrument panel?

Then I've misunderstood you.
The switch for the E-brake light is on the e-brake it self, might check if there's something loose there (it's just behind it, you can prolly see it if you look under the dash)

Also, it could be that your brake fluid were gettin' low. There is a sensor in the hood on the brake fluid reservor that lights the E-brake light if there is a lack of fluid. Might wanna check that.

Also, I recomend Max Ellery's workshop manual, I've used it quite alot and like it. I've never check out those other two you've mentioned.

Hope this helps.

thanks a lot!

Hehe, your welcome!
Congratz with the 'Runner!

I've had a few in the last few years... Only have two ATM.. :P
You might wanna look into some slightly modificiations. (HZJ80 coils in the rear 'n' stuff)

Improves the ride alot.

(Also, a shameless plug, I recomend my picture gallery if you need 'ideas' for upcomin' mods! lol)

Just abit. Not too much, yet.
Err, what pic exactly?

Ya, it's better to have the u-joints in good shape, aswell as bearings and such...
