Brake Lines

Anyone ever replace the OEM brakeLine...the line that connects to the calipers????

I'm looking at replacing mine with a stainless brake-line hose.

If so which ones are you using and where did you get it???

None of the local auto-parts sell them.

I use stoptech ss lines. Got mine from zachhuasen racing.

Stoptechs or Goodridge. I got my Goodridge thru a local toyota shop. I believe they got them from worldpac

What kind of improvements can be expected from this... also what kind of prices....

I would love to lock down my brakes (My Brakes are spongy and i usually feel the need to double pump to get the pressure I need to stop appropriately.)

I have Crowne SS lines on all 4 corners. Got them from Downey Offroad which is no longer in business. You can get them directly from crowneperformance in lengths of 0"-7" lift. Get the ones for the FJ Cruiser since the 4runner isn't listed. Brake line cutaway diagram

I already posted this in your other thread, but if you have to double pump the brakes, you definitely have air in your lines. Get it flushed out again properly. SS line will give you a firmer brake pedal feel. You should be able to lock up your brakes if everything is in tip top shape.

That's exactly what I was looking for.

I don't expect any performance increase....I'm just looking to make the changing of the calipers easier. Since I seem to be doing them about once every other year (about 80k miles).
