So a few weeks ago I got some feedback from everyone about the 5th gen brake swap and have ordered the parts for it. I'm going to hold off on doing it until mid/late August (when SCS gets a restock on wheels). Since I'm hoarding parts until then(AFE filter, front and rear kicker speakers, weather tecs on order, gas tank straps, sway bar links, spidertrax's and rust prevention bits and pieces) what else should i look at replacing when doing the brakes that I can get to while I'm down there? Thanks

While your down there, check all front suspension bits and make sure theres no excessive play in any of the bushings, ball joints, tie rods, CV axles and boots etc.

For rust prevention, I started out using POR15 to paint things. I found it doesn't stick well to anything that's already been painted and it is a lot of mess. I was able to peel it some of it off a a day after applying to my LCAs. Works decently on surface rust after loose crusties have been removed and clean metal has been etched. Recently I switched to using Rustoleum Rust Reformer, which I like better. I haven't had it on my test area long enough to see how it holds up, but application is much easier, less messy, and it adhered well to the surface.

You could get the stainless steel-braided front brake lines. They're a good, affordable uprade to the stock brake lines. I got mine off Amazon. They are Centric brand, which as I understand is the same product as the Stoptech ones, but at a lower price.
I've had these installed for 5 years almost and had no issues. I've run them on stock suspension, as well as my current 3" lift.
