Constant Beep Tone when you have no brakes!!

Recently I discovered a slight leak in my braking system above the rear differential. I figured I have some time to look ant it until my appointment to bring my truck in for a gas tank strap replacement.

I was wrong, I’m driving along and all of the sudden my brake warning light comes on and then shortly after I have no brakes (foot to the floor) and now there’s a constant beep tone. I did manage to get home safely.

Is this constant tone a safety feature for the braking system? Will this go away once the brake line is repaired? Anyone else experience this too?

Yea - I live in NY part of my brake like corroded through and all the brake fluid leaked out. Loud alarm came on. AFter the line was repaired, alarm and errors went away

Agreed, it will go away after the repair. I was bleeding my rear brakes by having the ignition to "on", but engine not running and holding down the brake pedal. The pressure dropped too low and that alarm came on. I turned the key off, checked brake fluid level and tried it again and no alarm.
