Brakes, part deaux

Ok, here we go again. For those playing along at home this is a follow up to this thread: http://www.toyota-4runner.org/3rd-gen-t4rs/189721-soft-brake-pedal.html

The parts arrived today. I have a new master cylinder, new rotors, and new brake lines for all four wheels.

I'm certain that I've got a handle on the rotors.

I'm pretty sure I've got a handle on the master cylinder.

Brake lines . . . less certain. I've never changed brake lines. The first thing I notice is that both ends of the brake lines are threaded, yet neither have anything that spins independent of the rest of the line. I assume that means that the spinny part is on the truck on both ends? I read something recently about "did you use new crush washers?" What's a crush washer, how many do I need, and should I hustle my ass down to the Toyota dealership before I start?

Did you order hard or soft lines? The reason is for the rear there is a soft line that T's off into a hard line into each cylinder. That is how I have see all rear drum set up that I can think of offhand.

I have used copper crush washers that go between calipers and soft brakes lines before but this 4runner doesn't use them.

I bought soft lines. Maybe I saw the crush washer comment on a Tacoma forum. The 4Runner is my son's truck. I have a 2003 Tacoma.
