Need some advise...while driving this morning, the ABS/traction control lights came on, but no check engine light. After a few miles, the lights went off. When I went to stop at a light, the ABS immediately kicked in, the brake peddle got stiff, the car braked a WHOLE lot harder than it should have, and I struggled to maintain control of the vehicle. When I did stop, the ABS/traction control lights came back on. The next light, brakes were fine and stopped without issues. Later, the same thing happened all over....ABS lights went off, braked at a stop sign, ABS kicks in, brake pedal stiffens, and car brakes hard, and control is difficult.
I have checked several other threads and have not seen similar issues. I did read something about cleaning speed sensors, so I will give that a try.
I don't think it is related, but to be sure, over the weekend I replaced the right exhaust manifold (I was lucky enough to get one of the ones that cracked).
Other thoughts?
