breaking in process

Hey, my truck just hit 1000 miles! the dealer told me that i should keep it under 65mph or under 2000rpm for the 1st 1000. Does that mean i can go crazy now or should i still be easy on her?

The key to proper break in is to drive normally with all kinds of driving mixed in rather than all one kind. That is don't take a road trip so it's all highway miles nor should it be all 20 - 40 mph either. It's the over all mix that gives you a proper break in.

Also, the first oil change interval is very important.

You didn't have to baby it for the first 1000 miles. Your dealer, like many so many others, is clueless. Did he at least tell you not to drive at a constant engine speed for extended periods? Anyway, with 1000 miles on the clock you don't have to worry about taking it easy anymore...

pedal to the floor,watch the needle go to redline, I was doing that at 900 miles and my truck runs great and strong with 22k now nothing will break:

Floor the shit out of it! I floored my v8 with like 50 km on the clock for short bursts (couldn't resist). With 1,000 miles you can do whatever you want

I subscribe to the school of putting good loads on engines right off the bat, to make sure everything sets in all the way....
