Brembo Rotor

Hi, yes, I've searched and I believe I have the correct information but I just want to verify the part number before ordering.

My stock rotors are severely warped and its time to upgrade them. I'm not looking to do the Tundra upgrade yet, maybe in time but for now I want to get a set of the Brembo rotors, based on what I've read here as well as other places online.

Is the correct part number for my 1999 4Runner for the front Brembo rotors 25488?

That is listed as a model that will fit. There are a few models Brembo makes for the 4Runner, so you may see a few part numbers...you just have to pick the "level" you want to own.

FYI, I purchased these rotors with EBC Greenstuff pads and still experienced brake fade, shuttering under hard braking. I was highly disappointed in the set. After 1k miles I upgraded to the tundra 231mm brakes. It is night and day difference and feels much better. I wish I would have gone to with Tundras in the first place. Wasted money in my opinion.

x2 on that. I went with brembo blanks and some nice akebono pads and they were decent but the Tundra brakes make them look like bicycle brakes

Thanks everyone. Now, if I want to go with new Tundra components, calipers and rotors, do I just go with the OEM ones or which after market ones?

Depending on your rim, 231mm may fit without modifying. I had to grind down the inside of the wheel for them to fit. I used a kit from PowerStop brakes. I haven't had any issues with them and put about 3k miles on it so far. 199mm brakes should fit without modification. Not sure what part numbers would be on those.

The 231 will fit your truck (if the wheels are still the same as in your garage pic), go with those as opposed to the 199. Get OEM rotors & pads - the price difference isn't that bad - and reman calipers from the parts store of your choice. You won't regret it.

Keep in mind that your spare will not fit over the new brakes, so if you have a flat in the front you will have to move a rear wheel to the front and put the spare on the rear. Or you can do as a lot of us have and find a used wheel to use as the spare. It will fit in the spare location.

Thank you for the information and link, greatly appreciated. You mentioned my spare wont work, I plan on getting 5 Pro Comp Rims, I'll post a link below, do you believe the 231 Tundra rotors will fit with them?
