Brian757's "Stormtrooper" Build Thread

THe truck is coming along man! I like the stance you have with the body lift and suspension components! :) I didn't realize you had 305's on there.... wishing I would have build mine bigger.... but it barely fits in my garage as it is! lol!

As far as the tube bumpers go... are you planning on wheeling it a whole lot? If not... I'd leave the bumpers as is. The truck looks really clean and well put together... I'd leave it alone, and just focus on doing more cosmetic mods.

Sorry for adding my 2 cents... just kills me to see people put big heavy bumpers on, and not wheel the truck. In almost every case, it ruins the look of the truck for me.... however.. there are a couple of guys on here that I LOVE their OFF-ROAD setup... but they are mostly all black rigs, with color matched plate bumpers.

Again, great work on your rig man!

Okay, okay, okay. I know, I know, I should have gone with OEM. Well I did my homework people and I have found out that OEM and Moog are almost structurally identical and have been stress tested to come out the same.
Also, 555 makes Moog and they are almost one in the same. Here are some more photos.

Notice the markings:

I am taking it easy for the rest of the night.
Will keep going tomorrow. Just situated everything and am going to reattempt tomorrow.

Thank You spongerx for that awesome write-up!

ANYONE notice the girlfriend in my photo helping me by working on the other side?!

I also figured I would do the upper ball joints since I have everything apart.
I am going to purchase a puller tomorrow from my uppers.

OH, OH, If anyone else wants to suggest to me that I should just do the work myself,
Do me a favor and blow it outta your ass.. KIDDING! I love it :)
Especially saving $600!!

sweet rig man! how fast are those tires supposed to wear? they seem like theyd wear down fast for street driving because of how fat they are

I am not quite sure but I've burnt out once before and have had them on for roughly 10,000 miles and haven't noticed much tread loss. Thanks for the compliment!

Anyone wanna watch me throw pizza dough from about 4-5 years ago?
I was bored and went through my channel for the first time in awhile.

That was pretty awesome haha, what pizza place did you work at that threw pizzas? I feel like most of them today just use a press to do it.

Awesome runner btw

I'm glad to see you attempting this on your own. 600 bucks is a big chunk of change for doing the ball-joints. That's a lot of money for extra mods!

What trails do you know of? Are they legal? I'd like to try out some milder trails, as I've just got street radials.

blizz86: I used to work at Shorebreak. If I had a better angle on that video, you guys wouldn't be watching me. We were like a Hooters only with hot chicks. It was amazing. I won over chicks with my amazing food talent.. Lame..

shadow247: Yeah bud, I'm knee deep in the game right now! I have to go buy a ball joint press from my autoparts store today. They have a tool purchase/rental program so I pay $200 for it and return it for full refund when im done. If you wanna come over, I got plenty of Bud Light!! As for the trails, they are a secret, I will have to take you sometime. No cops or anything. Its sort of a loop-hole. It is a trail that intervenes with other roads that have signs stated, "Private Properly - No Trespassing." The homeowners nearby were just waving their beers at me with a thumbs up. I think they don't care. They also have Confederate flags everywhere. Wouldn't that be odd stumbling across a Klan rally one day with you?! Can you say, awkward!?

Brian757 Man I would totally come over and help, but this is the one weekend my wife is not working saturday, so she will expect me to be home and helping with the baby, even though when she works I have the baby all to myself! Oh well, I can maybe come over for a few hours. Shoot me PM and I will give you my # and we can talk.

Oh, silly, muckedy, muck, people...

If you get it done, come up this way and I will see if I can hook you up with the Lifetime alignment at Firestone. They buy a lot of parts from us and hooked me up on mine.

I might take you up on that offer. I am roughly 30-45 minutes from Hampton so I am somewhat concerned driving on the interstate with a non-aligned lifted truck. But that is a truly good offer. Let me know if its possible. I am going to end up paying $100 to get aligned at my local Merchants.

Well I just talked to him and he said he couldn't give me a deal, so you would be paying regular price. It's 179.99 plus 10 in shop fees, so it comes out to 190. The nice part is that you can take it back as many times as you want to get it aligned.

If you go online, you can get an internet price of 169.99. Just go to http://www.firestonecompleteautocare.com/repair/alignment.jsp and put in your info.

shadow247: Thank you for looking into it! Thats a great deal. I will let you know.
