Always good to see you on here man, your build has been one of my favorites on here for forever.

Congratulations on the birth of your boy. Mine is 6 and nearing 7, and is the best part of my life. Give it a few years and yours will surely develop a love of the outdoors and and offroading like you.

Hey man,

Thanks for dropping by and commenting. I haven't gotten as much activity in 2020 as I wanted, not much really. I have the 4Runner for camping / trips / cruising but I have been very limited this year bc of stupid Covid.

I was going to do an awesome April 2020 Moab trip with friends but that was killed by Covid (I should have just gone anyways) and then in June I was blessed with a son, our 1st child. Its been a wild year.

The 4Runner is still here and now it has a 3-car garage so there has been a lot of changes this year

Here are a few pics of the garage before / post-renovation. 4Runner is off-camera as it is in the driveway at the moment.

Garage looks great! I wish I had a garage that size! And space to park 2 vehicles, with space for a work area, also love the floor!
Congratulations on the birth of your first child! I remember that time, prospective and priorities change! I don't think I did any wrenching for 5 years... After my 3rd was 2, and I couldn't afford not to! Now I'm helping my middle boy wrench on his car--- 94' Celica....

You'll have to post some pics of your toddler! They grow fast! My youngest just proposed to his girlfriend last weekend--- they're now engaged! How time flies! As soon as your son is walking, you'll have to get him out camping etc., Later, some wrenching when he's old enough to hold a ratchet... Good excuse for a new project! Our new addition to the family(she's getting her 12 wk shots tomorrow):

As soon as this snow ends, I plan on getting to the front end work I mentioned in my previous post. I've been needing 4x4 more this winter than usual!

Happy Father's Day to those of you out there who are Dads. Hope it's going great. Mine is turning out pretty good! Wife got me a bottle of Scotch. My son is just turning 1 year old next week. I can't believe it's already been almost a year.

I haven't updated this thread in quite a while because I've just been insanely busy with life. I had a kid and bought a house and started a new job. All in the last 18 months.

I just finally got a chance today to start detailing the truck. Sadly it had been sitting for almost 3 months covered in dirt. Which in my opinion just sort of preserves it anyways. And today I got a chance to wash it off and start waxing it. I have a daily driver so not a big deal.

I may start posting some house renovation pics in this thread because I'm not going to be doing as much upgrades on the 4Runner for quite a while. Most of the things I need to do on the truck are little fixes like a light bulb that's out and a Toyota emblem that fell off and a bunch of other stuff like that. So nothing really that exciting.

I haven't yet set up my garage fully but I was lucky enough to buy a house here in San Diego that is sort of an oddball house because it is 1890 square foot, which is very nice but definitely not a mansion or anything like that. Anyways it comes with a three-car garage which I appreciated when we bought it but now I very very very much appreciate it. Especially after driving around and seeing that there are so very few of these out there in California. Especially in the city limits of San Diego.

Our place is just north of SDSU, about a mile N of the 8 and college. Really nice area and still in SD. Single story. No pool. 4 bedrooms. We bought in September last year, right before the market went nuclear. We had saved up for almost 5 years to get the deposit down. Anyways glad to finally be a homeowner.

One of the first things we did before moving in was redo the garage floor. Definitely worth the $4k. That price included a second full top coat of the entire garage.

I do plan to update this thread more this year and into next year and hopefully get out there on some trips.

The 4Runner? Yes!

Although I have a to-fix list before my next outing and the lame pandemic has really slowed my driving needs down a lot. But the truck is here to stay. I'm at 20+ years of ownership now.

It is a very good car for transporting different loads. I bought new light fixtures and cargo straps for it from rockauto. I'm renovating my house and I constantly need to transport something on my 4runner, and the mounts I bought make it very easy to transport materials, hardware, or furniture. The last thing I transported was radiators from the best cheap radiators store, delivered without any problems, damage, or scratches. Why hire movers when you have the 4runner.
