Bridgestone Dueler A/T Revo 3: P vs E rated

Costco has a good deal on a set of these in both P and E rated versions. I've been going through the forums but still don't have a clear answer. I don't do any real wheeling, mostly driving backcountry roads in national parks and I'd estimate I'm on-road 80%-90% of the time. For the rest of the year I'll be around Idaho and Montana so expect to be a bit more off-road than normal. I also don't tow anything heavy.

If there was a C-rated version in 265/75/16 available at Costco I would probably go with that but there isn't. For perspective, I'm coming from Kumho Road Venture AT51's, P-rated.

With consideration to your needs and driving terrains I would stick with P rated for weight savings and ride comfort

I never had issues in Montana on my P Wildpeaks though the 4x4 trails there abound in sharp sticks. Those trails are few; the majority of trails we found in Montana are just narrow dirt roads, generally very smooth with holes here and there.

How it is going to feel will depend on the suspension as well. My LTE work exceptionally well with my suspension; great comfort. But they would likely overwhelm the stock one.

Another factor is longevity. I have no idea about the Revo, but with offroad use the P Wildpeak had a very short useful life while people with LTE Wildpeak report good life.

As a general rule of thumb, LT rated tires will last longer in gravel and uneven pavement than P rated tires. Some P rated tires do not take to off-road use well at all and will lose tread very quickly.
