I have the PIAA extreme white plus bulbs and couldn`t be happier! I`ve seen them next to silverstars and the PIAA`s are ALOT brighter and whiter and they are rated at 4000k(according to PIAA) which is suppose to be as close to HID as you can get with a halogen light!

where would you get some of those PIAA extreme whites?? no conversion necessary then??
 
I got mine locally! You can order them either directly from Piaa, or I think they have a search that tells you where local dealers are! You could just do a search in the net too! Yes they are plug and play, no conversion or extra wiring!
 
I've been runnin them for three months now. I haven't had any problems, no melted wires, no flickering, dimming, battery draining, no melted or discolored headlights! If that's what yer getting at!
 
HIR is the brightest you can get, over 2500 lumens. i use em for my highs. yes they cost, but are well worth it.its nothing to clip the tab & you can still buy them, if not this site , then at john deere tractors. HIR Headlights 9011 9012 bulbs

Chaz, you don't happen to have any pics with the HIR's? I'd like to check them out! I read a write up from another member on here and he said he had to file the body of the bulb along with the tab and swap out the o-rings! You didn't have that problem? That's what kept me from buying those! Maybe I'll get a set for my high beams!
 
was that scottms post? i only used the hirs in my high beams,not sure about your 04 since our lights are different, but it was almost a direct fit in my 06. the bulb fit right in, but didnt turn all the way down to stock position, but they worked, so all i had to do was clip, yes, nail clippers, like an 1/8 off one tab, & then it fit perfectly. sorry i dont have pics, i use to have silverstar ultras for the highs, & these flat out blow them away. Yeah, that was Scottm's post! Now I'm interested, I think I might have to get a set and see how they look next to the piaa's! Thanks for the info Chaz!

X2 on the PIAAs. I've had a full set for 3 1/2 yrs and one of the lows just went out a month ago. These are very bright, 'specially the high beams, but are 50 state legal and a simple plug-in. I believe the 9006 fits both the low beam and fog sockets and the 9005 are for the high beams. These are not cheap, but they're worth it for the both low and high beams, but I wouldn't bother with the fogs.
