instead of leds, maybe polarg makes the hybrid lens bulb for it, or mount some small lights wired to the reverse. also candlepower.com might have some, i dont know what # you need, but heres a link to site. 796 Reverse Light Upgrade Bulb

I used some Xenon Hyper white bulbs for mine cheap and huge improve over the stock bulbs. They were like $6.99 at my local Pep Boys. Bright White with a blue tint on the bulbs.

I got my front windows tinted and now it's pretty hard to see backing up too! I ran over my son's bike two nights ago...didn't see a thing! Brighter bulbs are in order for sure....did you decide on anything bgmac?

i just drilled some cheap burner lights that my buddy gave me that were brand new onto my back bumper and ran a fused wire back. its not the prettiest job but it works... another thing are the silverstar bulbs for reverse lights. theyre pretty bright...

I remember somebody on here put HID lights in the rear for back up lights. It was pretty stinking bright...I would find the link but I'm far too lazy to search for it. If you do end up with a solution that works well, I would be interested in knowing what it is...I've even thought about putting some fog lights back there under the bumper. What do you think?

had a thought

I know it's probably more on the expo rig front, but has anyone mounted any small fog/flood lights to the rear spoiler? I'm thinking some small rectangular fog lights mounted backwards at an angle....

Just spitballing...

Well, I ended up getting a set of 7440ST Sylvania Silverstar bulbs. They provide a vast improvement over stock bulbs. Autozone had them for $9.99. I was originally going to get 7440 PIAA Xtreme White Plus Bulbs but they are 27 watts and I was worried they might cause problems with running to hot.
Here is a pic of the bulbs I got for reference.

Thanks for following up. It sometimes seems like a lost concept here. Do you have the same cloudy taillights I have or are you running the 01-02 tails?

Any pictures? $10 isn't bad and with 5% tint it is hard to see a lot of times backing up.

I have just the standard 98 tail lights

I tried to take pics, but they just do not come out good and it doen't show the difference of the two bulbs.

I'll go by the store tomorrow and pick them up...maybe shoot a pic before I put the second one in since I have stock 98 lenses too...thanks bgmac!
