Brighter Reverse Lights

The key is to put it in reverse, jump out really quick, and take the shot before the truck runs you over. Its best to point it at a tree or something pretty stout so it doesn't end up in your neighbors living room....man if I had a nickel for every time that has happened!:thumb3:

I'll put my pics up in a little while, but it turns out that if you just turn the key to on without starting the engine, then pull the handbrake and then shift to reverse, the lights come on without any danger....who knew?

Back to topic though, I can tell a pretty good difference in the light output and color. We'll see how it does after sunset. Hopefully the pics represent it well enough to help somebody...

Hey bgmac, I got the bulbs at Advanced Auto for $7.99....I'm considering never going back to Autozone again...

OK, so the pics aren't that representative of the end result, but here goes anyways...the new one is on the left. It's much brighter, in fact in the dark I can't see my brake lights, but I can see my back up lights...I guess it's time for brighter brake lights too!

The cheesy flash on my blackberry went off, so technically I had flash on. In daylight, this phone takes pretty good pictures but at night or low light it leaves a lot to be desired.
 
Lol, I told it was a pain in the asss to try and get good pics! I am still curious what the PIAA bulbs look like, however I really dont feel like shelling out $14 bucks to find out. I guess I will just have to be content with these bulbs. They do offer a noticeable improvement and for the money, you cant go wrong
 
When you're right you're right....I'm just still getting used to the idea that the infant with the cigarette is just going to be right a lot!:cowboy:
 
A little off topic but I was on Sylvania's website and read that their "XX% brighter than standard halogen bulb" claim is based on 80% of a standard halogen's light output. I need to upgrade my bulbs anyway so I might try the PIAAs

Cool, post your results with the PIAA bulbs!
 
I ended up using the SilverStars myself. I didn't feel like ordering PIAAs and I don't know who carries them locally. I realized after that with my tint, nothing that fits in the taillight housing is going to make a difference. The SilverStars have a nicer color temp with a little more output.
 
Can anyone post pics with the lights on and off?

I want them but with the 02 style tail light, I'm not sure how I'd like having a blue bulb in there, along with an amber bulb underneath.

I might just go get some of those "chrome" bulbs too for the signals.

Even if its the frosted tail, any pics?
