Well lucked into the axles being correct in the e locker that we pulled [MENTION=318903]RandyBobandy[/MENTION] and my axles had new brakes and wheel cylinders in them. So we swapped the hardware onto the there axles put oem axle seals in and bolted them up. They even have replaced wheelbearings in them as well. Cut the dust shield around the drum off as it was about rotted off anyhow. Plus makes it a lot easier to pound the drums off when the holes are stripped to press them off if the ridge occurs on the drums..

Great idea, Fluid Film is a way of life in our area to keep these rigs from turning to dust.Drilling fluid film holes in the front frame brackets before I weld them back on.

Mine lived it’s life in midwest prior to my ownership so some damage already done.
My goal is to try and keep it at bay as long as possible as can’t imagine car life without a 4TR in the garage.

Well inside the frame is the only place fluid film will it stay. It washes off the metal fairly quickly.. I think I am going to cosmoline underneath on the metal ..
and just use Fluid Film inside things.

The only experience I have had with woolwax is i use that for the gun and bottles to spray Fluid Film.
I've got a pail of it on the go now, I actually like how it sprays better than fluid film, it does seem a little thicker.

Good deal, I my area of the world, the cosmoline will get semi solid which is what is needed to protect the underneath and not get covered with rust proofing while working on the rigs...
Keep us posted on the wool wax as i am curious.

I think wool wax and fluid film are both lanolin based, I use fluid film on everything now because I have a 5 gallon bucket available to use that I didn’t pay for lol I may try cosmoline when I put my new rear axle in

cosmoline causes cancer in California, but as long as your not in California your totally safe.

given the option of using unprocessed sheep sweet and toxic flammable petrol chemical... I don't know it's a hard call.

Don't let him kid you his frame is full of oil etc... LOL.. Thanks for sharing, looking like I better change my thoughts to another rust inhibitor as cosmoline looks kinda nasty for what it is... Then again the government created it like agent orange or round up so not really surprised. I wish it would stay on but not in this area it wont.. Great inside things though..
