If you're gonna do a lot of paint work you might check out one of those blow up paint booths. My buddy has one and is pretty happy with it. He sets it up in his driveway.
Primer looks good. I see the paint fog still lingering lol.
I learned paint and body on an old Honda Accord. Hit a deer and needed to repair the bumper and put on a new hood. It was white so an easy color. That clear coat fog hung in the air thick and I was paranoid the EPA was gonna show up lol.

Granted we do need a paint both. Just to simplify things. Keep things more contained. The good news is the paint dries super quick and turns into dust. So we get the shop full of mist and are done for the day. Lol.. That contains it. My brother likes to paint. He wears a respirator. I just leave for a while.

Original MFG, but not the original design - just be aware.Found some originals from Napa for the 03 Tacuma

It's ok. I ran moogs for 60k miles on my 4 runner too and they still are in spec and tolerance...:] Granted, I run stock tires stock heights and stay on the roads.

I put one of those on my drivers side. I grease it every oil change. We will see what happens.

My first OEMs were still tight at ~250k miles... but it was a 2WD 15" truck for that whole time. Plenty of dirt roads, but no lift.

I replaced my OEM LBJs recently and they had a little over 100K miles on them. They were still pretty tight. I'm gonna try to find someone to give them to that can use them as spares. I did use OEM for the replacements. Figuring at least 100K service life the value for money seemed to make sense.

hmm.. Interesting... I know these are weak spots. I just am going with checking on them and as long as they are within spec I run them.

Whats really interesting is that every 3rd gen I bought in my fleet all had their original lower ball joints in. Only 1 had low mileage. 118K.. The rest were all in the 200K with one 322K. I never seen a lower ball joint failure around here. I am thinking this is due to the rust belt and the mileage with wear not getting bad enough before they rusted out. Thus why its not seen here. Just one of those things I check. You can't feel .5mm ply in a ball joint its impossible. You have to use an indicator to measure that close of tolerance. Its alot easier to do with the lift now..

Both fronts have to be off the ground to do the test, so yes, a lift would help!!Its alot easier to do with the lift now..

You are correct you can't feel them.
If you want to go that route. I personally figured Toyota gave us that spec for a reason.
How many 3rd gen Tacomas are out there with original Lower ball joints? I honestly suspect a pile.
So I just like to check them and when they get to the threshold. It's time to change them.
I will check these Tacomas originals at 200k and see if they are or not in tolerance. We are going to change them. I am simply just curious.

Well. I need to drop to a 2 x1 inch flat bar. When I cut my rocker panel to size it up. I was a 1/2 inch lower on the pinch weld. So this is what the I got done today. Just seeing how things would fit. My daughters cat Rosie even was helping some. :] I am getting closer to getting this passenger side buttoned back up.
I verify the 2 x 1 will work good. Then start rebuilding the inner rocker. Weld the tube in. Then weld the outer rocker in. Finish by building the front and rear back in again.

I plan on doing this exact thing with my rocker panels as my insides are no good. What exactly is the square tubing welded too when you cut out the inside rocker panels? I cant really tell by the picture and until I actually cut mine out I'm having a hard time picturing it.

Yes that's for ones the the inner metal is rotted out.
I need to finish removing the spot welds in my junk yard set. So I can send the inner rockers to Canada to be templated.
The tube inside is for strength..To tie the body mounts back together
