Ok, so not really much of a "build" right now. Hopefully a few years down the road, I'll be in a position to start pimping it out, but for now, this will really be more of a maintenance journal.
Ok, so the truck doesn't have a name yet, although I'm working on that. Bought it about a month ago from a local small used car lot. I was very happy to find it.
2001 T4R SR5 Sport 4x4
180,000 miles
History: This truck arrived at Pohanka Toyota in Salisbury MD in February, 2001. For whatever reason, the dealer took title of the truck and put 7,500 miles on it. It was then sold to a local couple as a certified used vehicle in September 2001. This couple then owned the truck from September 2001 - September 2012, when they traded it in. Over the course of the following year, the truck apparently went from auction to auction when it finally found its way to Broadway Motors in Madison, TN (just north of Nashville) and your's truly found it.
The Good:
Mileage for it's age is decent: right at the 15k/year average
Tan Cloth interior is in immaculate condition. I mean, amazing. It looks like its 4 years old inside, not 12. The driver's side door control panel has some scratches on it (this trim has that silver finish on the interior panels that expose the black plastic beneath when scratched) But otherwise, the inside is really good.
Maintenance records are solid. The PO maintained the truck regularly and at the dealership the whole time. Carfax has a long list of maintenance records on this puppy.
The Bad:
Minor rust underneath. The truck lived in Maryland its whole life and was apparently stored outside. Consequently it has some surface rust underneath, but not bad.
Moderate Clear-coat failure on horizontal body panels. This sucks. As stated above, the truck must have lived outside and the PO was apparently not well-informed about the dangers of bird crap. As such, some of it sat on there long enough to eat into the clear coat. It's not to the point where it's peeling or nasty, but you can definitely see up close that the stains ain't coming out.
Needs new valve gasket cover. It's not too bad yet, but will need this addressed. I knew this going into the deal and am planning on having it fixed when I do the timing belt, which is due in about 10-20k miles.

Differential, transfer case Drain & Fill
MAF clean
PCV valve replacement
Brake Fluid Replacement
Power Steering Fluid
Replace Radiator & Coolant
Transmission Cooler (B&M 70264)
Transmission Fluid Drain & Fill
Fuel system cleaning (gradually)
Fuel Filter Replacement
Plugs and Wires
New O2 sensor(s)
4wd front sensor replacement
Timing Belt, Misc belts, Water pump, Valve Cover Gasket
Most folks probably wouldn't put most of this stuff in a "build" thread, but I've never been very handy with vehicles, so the above stuff is a pretty big undertaking for me. I plan on doing most of it myself with the help of write-ups and four-letter words. The timing belt project, I will NOT be doing myself, however. That's just way beyond me.
If anyone has suggestions for anything I've missed, or changing the order of things, please tell me. Like I said, I'm new to the DIY side of things and will need all the advice/help I can get. Also, if anyone in the Nashville area would like to help me with any of this stuff, I'd love the help.
