Broke something in my front right suspension but can't figure out what

I had to take my struts and sway bar off then lift it in the air and start prying with a giant bar to find it was a lower control arm bushing.
Make sure the dent in the trans pan doesn't block the trans from sucking up oil, I think it picks up off the bottom(??)

Did it make metal on metal clanging? I do see that the bushing has a small tear in it, from what I can see of it, but I'd be surprised if it made that much noise.

Tomorrow I'll be removing the LBJ and strut again to swap the originals back in so the upper and lower arms should be free to pry on.

Are you 100% sure it's coming from the front? Check your upper bushings on your rear shocks. If they rot out they make an awful metal on metal sound when going over bumps.

Yes for sure the front. I just pulled out the strut and LBJ again and the control arms were free. They seemed fine. Tie rod seems fine too. I think I can rule out the front suspension. Differential seems OK. Amazing how it can sound like the front end is going to fall off when you hit a bump then everything's tight when you go underneath.

Can you simulate a pot hole hit on the lca/uca with a rubber mallet/plastic face hammer? Still quiet?

I brought it into the shop and it took the guy 2 hours to find it. It was the body mount behind the front wheel. The bolt was loose. I guess the guy who straightened the frame loosened it and forgot to tighten afterwards. It wasn't rattling until this impact which I guess shifted things and made it start rattling.

Now it's nice and tight over the bumps, ready for my trip next week.

it's always something obvious once you find it but it has nothing to do with the suspension. it's because you have a preconceived notion that it's the suspension and your just overlooking what is really busted/crack?
