Broken fan blades

2 of the fan blades look like they came in contact with something, what would of caused this?

I guess I'll check my motor mounts.

Could you have left a tool in the engine bay?

I honestly don't know how long its been like that, i did drive around for awhile without a skid plate.

Hard to tell by the photo but are you sure it's not from animals chewing on it?

Really doubt my cats are chewing on it in the garage lol. No body lift.

Did you have an accessory belt break and not notice it when you replace it maybe? I had a belt break before and on its way out break a few fan blades.

nah, everything is new after my wreck. it is an aftermarket fan blade.

Interesting…Then I would start by checking all your nuts and bolts and make sure the fan isn't wiggling and make sure nothing surrounding it isn't loose and possibly making contact. Keep us posted on what you find/don't find.

Have you been out wheeling and made any water crossings or playing in any deep mud holes? I've broken a plastic fan during a water crossing before...just a thought?!?

Anyway...here's a good opportunity to replace your mechanical fan with an electric one. This will prevent this from happening again...plus save some horsepower maybe a bit better fuel mileage...

Oops...I feel like a jack-nut! Sorry I didn't read everything before I posted. I just noticed you live in Las Vagas. Probably not too many river crossings or mud holes for play in...lol!!!

Couldn't find any nuts or bolts missing.
Not much mud or river crossing here until the monsoon season.
I had a flexalite fan system on my 3.0 v6 pickup, it seamed like it would overheat easy, and didn't notice any power gain.
