broken key in ignition....

As the title says, my key broke in the ignition when I started my rig today. The truck was running so I had to fix it immediately, not just ride my bike to work. My tumbler is pretty worn out after 30 years, so that actually helped a lot. I used a sticker and a knife. I pressed the sticker onto the key bit with the knife to pull it out just enough to be able to grab it with wire snips, and remove the piece of key. I looked in my junk drawer and, inside an old hide-a-key box, was a key from an '86 Toyota pick up, that I sold a few years back. So, I gave it a try, and it works in my 4runner!!! Whooooop! Sometimes life's little victories are the most rewarding. This could have been much worse.

Have you thought about installing an alarm or kill switch?

Not to be a wise ass, but I can neither confirm, or deny the existence of a kill switch.
